Every once in awhile, we ask posters for suggestions on how we can improve...

This is one of those times. What are we doing well and what are we not doing well?

All feedback is appreciated and thanks,

THE SHRINK

You can keep your political opinions out of it. The non-gambling political threads that were retained in this forum rather than moved to the politics forum kept me away for weeks. Business managers who allow their personal issues to get in the way of business are taking risks with customer retention with very little upside.

Shrink,

Maybe hanover above has a good point. But I'm as guilty as the next one of passing on my political ideas. It's certaintly not easy to appeal to a broad mass, but overall I think a good job is done. We all come from slightly different points of view and tolerance of all ideas is generally a good thing.

I wouldn't spend a lot of time worring about appealing to everyone. That maight end up appealing to no-one.

Best of Luck.

hanover,

Excellent suugestion. Perhaps we were guilty of allowing way too many political threads to stay in the offshore forum.

Since it was an ELECTION YEAR, our policy was to allow this up until the PRESIDENTIAL election was OVER.

If it is still continuing, I will personally make sure that these threads don't stay in this forum...

I was probably the most guilty out of anyone by posting my political feelings over here and for that I apologize...

I got very wrapped up in this one for some reason..

Your criticism is valid and we will take it to heart...

Thanks,
Ken

SHRINK, I posted some thoughts in the BR that are hopefully being reviewed. Overall, things are going well. We can always improve though. The numbers are increasing and the trash is decreasing. When you take out the trash, the house becomes cleaner. Funny how that happens. :103631605

If any poster needs assistance on any matter, feel free to contact us.

Please note-

All political posts are now moved to the POLITICAL Forum.

As a moderater here, as a team we all agreed to let the political posts stand in this forum up to the election............as MANY had gambling interests on the outcome.

Did we do the right thing?

Not sure, and that is why we invite constructive opinions such as the ones above on how to handle situations for the good of the entire forum community.

Hope you understand, it is very hard to please everybody in such a large forum community............but we here at the RX will strive to try and make every posters visit here a pleasant and enjoyable one the best way we can.

Again, thank you for your inputs.

If I ran this place I would try to get more of the lurkers to get involved. There are a TON of people that sift through the picks forums looking for a game to pull the trigger on.

The goal should be to get these people signing up with the books that advertise here.

Easier said than done you say??

I would have a bunch of contests, maybe even daily. You dont have to give away the farm, because you dont want to attract the bonus whores. Just give away a free $50 3 team parlay or $25 account or something at one of the books here. This gets them PLAYING at the books, which usually encourages future deposits.

Since i'm very new to this site i do not know what has been added. But,here's my 2 cents worth... In the dailey news section, have more guest articles....Lem Banker,Billy Walters etc...some off of the list that the shrink posted Most money winning cappers in the last five years. A few articles on basic handicapping. I'm always ready to learn something new.

I know alot of people come to see the Rx top cappers picks and for that I feel they should be rewarded. Guys like Ace, OMT, winning systems and hansen bros. put in alot of work and get nothing back.

Nothing big, maybe a $50 weekly bonus at a sponsored book for the top capper that week.

Just my 2 cents.

i know this sounds crazy for a sports forum but I actually like it when post come in on breaking news of major events. I often can get the news here first if I don’t have a radio or TV (like the PEterson Trial for example). Please allow those non sports threads to be posted in the main room as we always have.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

This is also an amazing place (due to the generous and technically smart readers) to get help on computer PC and software questions. Please keep those threads where we can see them! or bring back that computer help room.

I like that there has been no bannings for a long time, its been a great rhythm here lately.

There are a bunch of features in this new software system, there should be a tutorial write up on how to make the most use of all these features.

I like the fact that this forum is not a porn haven, sure a few juicy comments from time to time or links but not porn central.

This is just a great site, my favorite WEB site other than my sites for score updates! :)

Live Lines is just great as well.

One thing Id like to see is how everyone fits into things, the mods, the history, who runs what, it gets confusing not knowing the history of the main and past players/posters when references are made! sort of a genealogy of the site!

Id like to see more of the sponsors have a responsibility to check in here and share some thoughts, get to know them, the banners should all have a primary forum contact and a person who checks in from time to time. Some do that very very well.

More help form the sponsors if a current or former banner takes the money and runs, there are large post up with roll over buy out scenarios and good publicity that can make it a win win in many cases. And the Rx could for example give a month discount to the advertising of the banner shop if that shop offered a bail out to Rx readers. I would have liked to see more partnership and problem solving when for example ewinner up and left.

98 stars our of a 100 overall

And to think Dante, that trytrytry emailed me to say we'd have received 99 stars had it not been for YOU....:beavis1:

Try, if there were any of those tech threads in particular that you need to see, they are in the RR. You can do a search and find them. The room did not generate enough traffic to keep, so if there are any tech questions, anyone can use the offshore and likely get a better resonse.

Take care

I would like to see some sort of automated method of tracking cappers' results. I know that has to be a monumental task, but it also has to come with monumental benefits...

I envision something like making a certain book like Pinnacle the "official" book for capping purposes so any picks which are posted are automatically done at the exact Pinnacle price at the exact time the pick is posted. No padding of results would be possible (no honest mistakes either), and there would be no lines which are effectively unavailable to anyone. Also, anyone using different names from the same IP address to post picks would automatically have the other names exposed.

These are the reasons I neither post many plays (too tempting to just use a soft line strategy), nor do I follow many cappers on the site (too hard to tell who's padding, using soft lines, selective memory etc.).

Of course there are a few fine cappers here who do none of that, but they too would benefit from an automated system because it would make it easier to identify them and would save a lot of work for them as well.

Just a thought which is MUCH easier said than done, but I figure it can't hurt to suggest it anyway.

Do the Mods really have to put thier "2 cents" in on almost every thread ? This may come as a shock to some of you but I really, really, really don't care what a "hillbilly redneck" and a "know it all blow hard" think about every topic under the sun.

PS ...

K1 loves them both ... :toothless
