I opened up an account with Sportbet on a bailout plan from Blue Marlin. The deal was I would deposit $5,000 and they would give me a $5,000 bonus and I'd have to rollover the initial deposit 20 times. They cut my internet limits down to $250 so I basically had to make all my bets on the phones. I've given them about $70,000 in action since I opened the account according to Jake and he complained a few times that he wanted more action. He just decided to take my $5,000 away. Our deal was that I was supposed to give them $100,000 in action and there wasn't any time limitation on it. I feel like he cheated me by just taking the $5,000 away. At least they did pay me the rest of my balance.
It doesn't seem like they operate in good faith.

Jake is the one who just decided to take my $5,000 so I doubt that he's going to fix anything.

Jake you made the deal.. now live with it. And dont say he was giving minimum action just to meet the rollover.. it doesnt matter! you set the rollover to 20x, now pay up! full amount !

I never completed the whole rollover yet but I never made any withdrawls and I was still playing with them. He should have just let me continue playing according to our deal.

The facts...

KingofPoke came to me for a bailout, true enough. This was more than a year ago. After offering him the bailout, I decided to ask around about him. I come to find he is a sharp player, known by many. I say, "well, too late, I already offered it to him so let's see what happens" As time went by, I began to notice that the client would rarely play, and when he did play, it was a strong play (one that moved or was heavily bet). I told the client, that if he would like to continue to keep his bailout bonus, he would need to give us more action on a regular basis, not just pick us apart on certain games. He understood and agreed...yet failed to give us regular action. In fact, he gave me 2 bets in the month of May (both on the 1st) and he gave me two bets in June (both on the 28th). This conversation happened 4x...count them...4x BEFORE I made the decision to take back his bailout bonus. The last conversation with the client was on Oct. 29th. I told him of my intention to remove his bonus if he did not wager more often. At that time, he gave me 5 wagers. Since that day, he has given me 1 wager.

Gentlemen,

As quite a few posters here can attest, I do offer bailout plans for clients who are unfortunately affected by unscrupulous books. I have taken care of these clients, both on the forums and off. I have paid when we were supposed to pay, and given more bonuses when the clients have lost. In this case, the client was warned what would happen on 4 seperate occasions. Do not be fooled, he is a very sharp player who knew exactly what he was doing. If he was trying to complete his rollover, he would have given us more action, rather than just picking and choosing games that were a little "off" or "different". I did not wait for the client to give me 70k in action before he was warned. He was told after like 10k, after like 30k, after 40k and after 60k. He failed to meet what was asked of him, he failed to adapt to what we asked of him, so we felt he was not standing up to his end of the deal, thus we removed the bonus.

Thanks for taking the time to read this. In this case, there will not be an opportunity for moderation. HOWEVER, I welcome all comments and questions to Jake@sportbet.com or call me at 800-214-9666. Thanks and best of luck!

Noreaga,

I am only aware of this issue, and one other, over the past 4-6 months or so? The latter was solved the very next day, and I admitted that was my mistake IN FULL. Not on Sportbet or our policies. I hope I did not miss some, but if so, please point me in the right direction.

I gave them 70k in action on numerous bets. I could only bet $250 on the net so I often didn't look at their lines that much. The deal was a 20 time rollover. There wasn't any time limitation. Just admit that you didn't keep your end of the bargain.

KingofPoke,

A few quick questions. After our original conversation....did I, or did I not, tell you that I would take the bonus from you if you did not give us more regular action? How many times did I tell you that? After each time, and before we hung up, were you clear of what I expected?

If there was no time limitation put on the bailout, then i would say that Sportbet might be at fault here, however that being said, lets remember this...

Sportbet gave a bailout to the player.....

Sportbet basically gave him 5,000 bonus to play with......

He was able to wager with that extra 5,000 to build his bankroll with....

And he was paid (not stiffed), everything except the "bonus" that Sportbet gave..

Therefore i gotta say this isnt a major issue...

Books often define sharp players, or customers that they "dont want" and show them the door....It is their right, as long as they tell them, AND PAY THEM as they leave.....

Had Jake taken everything back, and just given you your 5,000, then i would think it was a little worse....

but all he kept was the bonus he gave you, then i dont think its so bad..

Gotta remember, this started, by them giving you something, that you didnt have coming (at least from them)......therefore, he has a right to ask you to play it like he wishes......Maybe it should have been clearer up front, but he probably didnt expect you to take a year to wager it either.....

If he asked 3-4 times, and you still didnt wager more, i am assuming the 5,000 was not that big of a deal to you.....

I understand why you are aggravated, but in this situation, when it starts from the book doing a nice gesture, it shouldnt end in a free-for-all forum war......

Just take your business elsewhere, and win THEIR money...:103631605

I see why books might be leary of offereing bailouts, seems like a no win situation at times like this...

Good luck to both parties.....

Jake,

I gave you about 10k in action this month. Our deal was that I was to give you a 20 time rollover of my initial deposit. It wasn't that I had to be a square. You try to change the rules after the initial agreement. Your $250 internet limits are a joke.

I do understand where Jake is coming from though. Sometimes a book will take on a sharp player as long as they give action other than the hot games. Also they need to give action on a daily basis. Otherwise it is not profitable for the book to write them. I wopuld think this would be especially true in a bailout situation.

How did he help me out? He took his 5k back. I often bet bad numbers there just to give them the action while I could get a better number at a low juice place. He just had my money for a year and didn't keep his word.
