......the coaching job at South Carolina or the membership at Augusta National? Cause he's gonna get both. Lou Holtz has a membership and Hootie Johnson was a fullback for the Gamecocks in the early 1950's.

He's making a huge mistake going to S Carolina. He simply won't draw the recruits there like he would at Florida........

I am rooting for him to do well. Time will tell, but recruiting may be an issue he can't overcome. Compared to Bobby Knight in the Big 12, he cannot get the top recruits from texas, such will be a similar problem for spurrier assuming he runs a clean program.

Spurrier had one top five recruiting class at florida. He was never a recruiter. He'll get the SAME level of talent @ SC as he did @ UF

Worldrunner, even playing third string and getting the leftovers after Miami and Florida State swipe up the majority of players in the state of Florida, that's still far be than 90% of other schools across the nation.........

Let's look at it closer. He is not really making a mistake if he can coach there and enjoy life. Thing is that Steve set such high standards while at fla that it will be almost impossible for him to get back there. Once is tough, twice is tougher. Hopefully he is making a decision based on his life, where he wants to be and where he thinks he will be the happiest. I am sure he thought this out well and decided it was in his best interest and I don't see any way that the school can suffer from it.
