Web site STILL down, been down all day. They STILL will not honor the free 1/2 point over the phone. To top it off, I just called to get some ncaa baskets in, "sorry we're only taking football bets right now". Now THAT is a joke, a well known sportsbook will only take ONE sport at a time? Wow.....

That's why I didn't post up there. They haven't proven anything yet. I'd get my money away from them as soon as humanly possible

Gentlemen,

I have personally been with SKYBOOK for 5+ years and have had very few problems whatsoever with them in that time.

One of my ALL-TIME favorite sportsbooks.

Look it what is happening RIGHT now. This isn't the first time someone has had a complaint about them like this. No point in having money if they can't even service their customers. There's no excuse!

Common practice for call centers to take only football inside 10 minutes to post on NFL Sundays especially if they are having web-site problems. Think about it: every customer they have is most likely trying to bet 4PM football. Simply a matter of calling back after the games kick for basketball or any other sport in this case.

the only problem ive experienced with them is their horrendous halftime lines, count your lucky stars if you can find -110 on an nfl halftime.

This is total bullshit by skybook!! I mean not taking basketball bets over the phone?????

And they should also honor the 1/2 point over the phone when the website is down.

I am GLAD THAT i didnt take themup on the torueky special. Imagine not being able to bet on a day in basketball because your book decides not to take any action on basketball that daY!!

Didn't we hear this last year when DOS attacks hit? "XXX book is a POS because they can't get up and running to take my action!" Ridiculous people, is this really the only book you have money in today? Maybe they should offer the half-point, but just realize offers like that are intentionally programmed only to be done by internet bets. When the whole system is down I don't think they want to use the resources to redo the system to add half points to all bets.

My advice is always have many books and if things like this happen, just forget about using them until they come back up. No big deal...

Well I wouldnt worry so much about the 1/2 point, but the no basketball action is total bullshit!

Bill, I have money at other books, so I'm fine w/ getting my action down. It's not a big deal really for me, but it's the principle. If your web site is down, and has been down ALL day, I feel you should do everything in your power to make your clients happy. And to me that means, honor your free 1/2 point (afterall that's the reason many of us have posted up there), and take all bets over the phone, whether it's foots, baskets or soccer, take em ALL and make your customers feel good. That's what's it's all about to me. At the VERY least they should be honoring the 1/2 point today over the phone....don't you agree?

Exactly, they know it doesn't look good and if it really bothers you then move your money elsewhere. Why come ***** about it here? A book that has issues has enough to deal with and at least they were upfront enough to send someone here to address the situation. Lots of good books have been down since the start of last season. Some their own doing, others outside of their control. To get upset about it just makes no sense to me personally because there are businesses of all stripes that have issues come up that prevent them from serving people the way they want.

And to the question of how hard can it be, I can assure you it is probably more difficult than you believe. I have assessed some software options in the past for other books and can tell you that software isn't easily changed, with good reason. You certainly don't want it to be easy to change software to give free half-points except in isolated situations, with approvals made by managers. Knowing they pride themselves on the half-points I am pretty sure they would have liked to offer it to their players in such a tough situation but probably for logistical reasons just decided it wouldn't work. I highly doubt any quality book would just say screw the customers on a day when they run the risk of losing them in the first place.

Okay Bill. That is your take, and I can agree with some of what you say. But to tell us that this is not the place to come and bring to light a situation like this seems a bit out of line. To quote you, I'm now "whining", as I said, my money got down at my other outs. To me this is an issue worth addressing, if for nothinng else, the fact the Skybook will not honor their free 1/2 poing over the phone when their site is down. For MANY here that is the sole reason they are playing there.

Good post and bet your azz that the people at Rio/Skybook had a shitty day.

The book has been great for us 95% plus of the time. Respect that percentage.

Bill I also eagerly await your response to superhero's post. This site is here to both praise and also complain if we are not getting the service that is promised. Understandably they had website problems but what is puzzling is why they won't give the half point to the people that call in.

Every Shop that I have ever been in has been down at a key time from time to time. If your a serious player you should have more then 1 shop when stuff like this happens. Was I upset when I couldn't get a couple of plays in this morning , YES, but its not the end of the world. Besides they sent me and my son to the Super Bowl last year so they'll always be tops on my list

I answered the question about not accepting the half points, everyone just ignored it. I don't know what the real story was so I am just speculating, but just from what I know about how software in a book is set up to have half points added to all the bets would be a logistical nightmare. Software is wisely set up to avoid giving many people the power of changing what the system is currently offering, usually requiring a higher level than supervisor to sign off on it. When you make an offer of certain things such as always giving half-points or reduced juice for say 3 hours, you can program that in, but it takes some resources and I would assume it takes a fully functioning system to do it with the attention of your IT staff that had to be scurrying trying to get the system up in the first place. If you can't accept then sure, it is certainly within your power to look elsewhere and no one in the industry would begrudge you for that.

Again.....I see your point Bill....and Shrink. I am not disputing that. I, as everyone else should, have other outs and got my bets down. I'm just a bit confused as to your friction against the 1/2 point via phone wagers, and not taking all sports via phone.

Thank you for your input Bill, I respect your opinion. I guess we just see things differently on this point.
