ESPN reports Davis is on a week to week situation. No doubt unless he pulls off some kind of miracle finish he is done at seasons end. One loss and he may be done the next day.

Illini, the absolute #1 Canidiate for your position is none other than Ron Zook. Believe it or not... You better hope you get him.

Davis is going to Gator Nation.

Worldrunner, you're probably right. Turner is a good guy and a good coach, but he can't recruit. I'm ready for someone that can get some good players in here, cause I'm tired of this bullshitt! Our basketball team is always good, and there's no reason why we can't at least compete for the Big Ten title in football every year.

Something to consider... Zook brought in the best two recruiting classes in the nation the last two years. (You can show me any ranking you want showing otherwise and I'll show you ON-FIELD production showing my case) He was about to bring in a 3rd top recruiting class as well. The guy can recruit as well as any other coach in the country. He was bringing those kids in for Spurrier during the years Zook had that active a part in the program.

Whoever inherits the Gators are going to win a national championship on the talent that Zook brought to the program. I didn't say much about the firing at the time because there wasn't much to say. Foley did what he probably had to. Fact is though I'm kind of disgusted with the way he was fired after only two seasons. I went through a brief period when I was fed up with some of the stuff happening on the field until I realized the potential that this man had as a head coach with the kind of talent he could bring into the system and his "hands-off" aproach on gameday. There's nothing wrong with being a hands-off coach when you have an excellent coaching staff.

Anyway...I hope you guys get him. He deserves any open job in the country and I hope he goes to Illinois. His style of coaching is probably more suitable for the Big 10 anyway.
