Hi Ted hope you are well - if it helps I am older than you (born in very early 1948). I am hardly ever sick but don't smoke or drink and work out everyday which has to help.

Thank you. As a note, I don't smoke or drink as well, but definitely over the last few years since retiring, have found myself too sedentary and not getting enough excercise. I was healthy as well for most of my life until June of 2003 when I began feeling ill out of the blue. Life is a gift but fragile, so enjoy it as much as you can.

I know the feeling OMT...I have never said this but 3 years ago, out of nowhere I got very sick, I had never been sick a day in my life until that time...To make a long story short, I went to every doctor and had every test they recommended...NOTHING was ever detected,I had every test come back fine.... it took me a full year to get over the odd symptoms ...they tested me for everything from MS to Mercury Poisoning, brain scans, blood tests, chest X-Rays, you name it I was tested for it...It was a scary time for me, like i said I never had been sick, did any drugs, smoked, nothing....

Every day and our health should never be taken for granted...

Exact same experience. Been through enough tests and seen enough specialists to last a lifetime. If I may ask. Do you recall anything that you may have been able to do personally that may have improved your condition? Even your own conjecture would be helpful.

May ask what it is you are suffering from?

People always say I never smoked or drank. I can see the smoking part, but drinking in moderation is not harmful, IMHO

Ted it was like nothing I had ever even heard of before..I was oblivious to all aspects of bad health ,problems, symtoms...

I will try to sum it up , but posting it in a few paragraphs could never do it justice....

I had some sort of nervous system disorder, its the best way i could describe it...thats why I even thought maybe it was some kind of poisoning, I even went as far as to get the mercury fillings taken out , and replaced by the white kind...

I had a headache in my left temple for 6 months straight, strange burning sensations, that came and went, tingling, you name it, i had experienced it...

The thing that seemed to help was when I exercised..it seemed to be the only thing that relieved all these weird symptoms...I was so frustrated from it, i didn't care anymore...I couldn't believe my body was failing me...Which really sucked...And if you saw me Ted you would not think I looked sick or had anything wrong... this lasted for a whole year, but as time passed the syptoms gradually faded...

Of course the doctors (who couldn't figure it out) suggested it was all 'stress' ..they like to use that when they are stumped...all I know is I wanted an answer, and no one could give me one...

I use to bike ride ALOT, that seemed to help...I think anything that got the blood flowing seemed to help me....I still to this day get mild symptoms...

BB- I have recovered from what ever it was...But 3 years ago, I had serious doubts I ever would.... I went from being never sick for 30 years to headaches, pains, odd symptoms overnight! It was like someone flipped a switch on...

Very odd to say the least JMan.

I have had a back pain, just under my rib cage and just above my waist for about 3 years now. I have had x-rays and some other test. all show nothing.

it gets really bad at times. this is why i think i have gall stones, that is my last resort. i will be heading to the doctor in the next few weeks and see what happens.

Without going into a lot of the detail, my body is essentially rejecting itself and shutting down. As for the smoking and drinking, the former can definitely kill you in a number of ways, the latter, done in moderation, should have little if any adverse affect and in some instances, i.e. red wine, can be benefittial. My choice not to smoke or drink had basically to do with that I was an athlete at a very young age and didn't want to introduce smoke into my lungs and as for alcohol, just never have enjoyed the taste as it is bitter to me.

As a footnote, both my mother and father smoked and my father had a massive stroke at my current age of 56 which was directly related to his smoking, i.e. narrowed arteries, yet lived 20 more years in permanent nursing care, paralyzed, without the ability to speak, read or write. My mother died from emphysema directly caused by the smoking.

BB before that happened to me, I didn't even know the body could feel the sort of symptoms I had...I ended up becoming rather knowledgeable about alot of different diseases and illnesses...You would be shocked to read how many people have these unexplained symptoms....

There's alot of information pointing directly to dental fillings causing alot of health problems believe it or not...The Mercury in them can leak into your bloodstream, or even worse the dentist can make mistakes when using the mercury...I believe they are even banned in Canada and in Ca.

All I know is, exercise is what makes me feel best...its always been the staple in my life, I hope it always is...

You just don't realize how lucky you are until your health fails you...I will never forget that year.
