I don't know anything about gaming but I may buy this for someone else. Can you play games like "GTA" and "True Crime: Streets of LA", "Vice City", etc. on this desktop system? thanks

Nintendo DS is garbage IMHO. I've played it and it's pretty stupid.

I spend 30+ hours a week gaming so I'm probably not their idea of a typical customer since I'd do most of my gaming on a desktop or xbox/ps2 but still... I think the same thing about the GBA. Basically it allows you to play SNES games 10-15 years after they were originally popular. Now they're letting you play N64 games.

You're a generation or two behind. They brought out 16bit games when everyone was playing 64 bit on their consoles. Now everyone is playing 128bit I don't see the pleasure in going back to 64bit. There's no true novelty or nostalgia since the games aren't actually the same and I'm really into video game nostalgia.

Me and my friend play NHL '94 tournaments all the time. We play 4-5 hours worth of that game. Best hockey game ever BTW. We still play NHL 94 more than we play ESPN NHL 2005.

World,

I need to buy someone a Xmas present. Are there handheld or desktop gaming systems that play games like True Crime, GTA, Vice City etc?

Thanks...don't know sh*t about these.

No... With DS you're playing games that are 5-7 years old instead of games that are 10-12 years old like with the GBA.

not at all...the fluid motion of the games is MUCH more advanced the touch screen play adds a whole NEW thing to it also...very sleek...and im sure it will improve also in time ..so its a plus, plus IMO

Dante, did you know that Playstation is releasing a handheld soon, and another company (I think Microsoft) down the road. Might be wise to hold off....
