just got back from the Stardust so i can post these pix (in town for T-giving - i am leaving AFTER usc/nd so i can miss the traffic driving home). i got to talk to Steve Fezzik before the show and since i was wearing the white Therx polo shirts we got at the party he recognized me). the following are the picks for both contests held this week (Jimmy/Cesar have a bunch of tie-breakers put in so that IF they finished tied again there WILL be a winner declared - i say this mostly for Chris @ Olympic because they have a prop on this one). the computer i am on at the place i am staying at has a broken "enter/return" button on it so i can't list the pix in a column, only in a long row - sorry about that but it is better than nothing. notice how many opposite pix jimmy/cesar have and how many common picks al/fezzik have.

In this competition, there were 3 common picks but only 2 that are graded the same (and you will see what I mean later): Mississippi State +5.5 and NY Giants +7 (Fezzik said if you like NYG - WAIT - this line will be +7.5 or higher by game time. As for the other 5 picks: Big Al McMordie: Va. Tech -4 (Fezzik said he liked this play but not at this price); Nevada +25.5; Chiefs -2.5; Browns/Bungals O38; BEST BET: Skins/Steelers O36.5 (and Al said to WAIT - this line will go lower by game time. As for Fezzik - unlike the party he left the afro wig at home although he did have on shades and a hat and he has about 5-dayold "5-oclock shadow): San Jose State +26 (Al said he likes SJSU, too); USC -23 (Fezz bet this @ 21.5 and said if you like USC - bet them NOW for this line will be 25/26 come game time and when he made the pick he had on a USC hat); Jags +6; Raiders +11 (as he put on a Raiders' hat and he aslo said this will be about 12 come game time); BEST BET: Nevada +25.5 (said it wouldn't shock him to see NV win outright).

Overall rough day for the 'Dust Invitees

Cesar is 2-3 (BB loss)

Texans UN 43.5
Bucs Over 39

Jimmy V 3-2 (BB loss)

Chiefs -2.5
Bucs -2.5

Big Advantage Jimmy V (though I don't know all the tie breakers)

Fezzik 1-3 (BB loss)
Giants +7
Jags +6
Raiders +11

Big Al 1-2 (BB "pending")
Giants +7
Chiefs -2.5
Browns OVER 38
Skins Over 36.5 (big bet)

Big Al has a nice edge going into tommorrow due to a common pick and Fezzik's BB loss.

Tough day in the NFL as well.

Jimmy V 3-4 finally topples Cesar 2-5, after 2 ties.

Fezzik catches the late game cover with Oakland to tie Al @ 2-5

Both guys lost their big bets and will get a chance to redeem themselves
in a tiebreaker next week.

I spoke to Fezz beforehand friday and he told me he didn't like this week's card at all. not hard to see that now! he did catch a bad break in Jags +6 but those are the breaks.

and as for the drive home - i left vegas with about 4 minutes left in USC/ND - about 8:15P. i watched the game at Bobby Bryde's place which is NOWHERE near any highway for me to get home. the drive home was thru rather nasty conditions - rain part way and HEAVY winds forcing drivers to go slower than usual an with a deathgrip on the wheel.

this post is mostly for Chris @ Olympic

i see you posted odds on the fezz/al rematch but nothing for this week.

in case you don't know what that matchup will be:

This week: Jimmy V vs. Brent Carter
Next week: Fezz/Al winner vs. Mike Orkin

Where are the props for the Stardust contest listed at Olympic?

I've seen people refer to them, but everytime I've gone to Olympic and "Other Sports" I never see the contest listed.

According to Fezzik he is out of the Stardust contest. The tie-breaker was used and he's gone.

Scooter, they're under Football, Football Props. Along with the Lingerie Bowl Semifinals.

i was at the stardust friday and i never heard JK say anything about a tie-breaker but if Fezz says he is done - who better than him to know.

Hey Winky!!

It's nice to see you, how was the stardust/ That's one of my favorite places when i drive up the hill. I hope you seen all the touts thats hang out that are in the contest and that are not. Two years ago i ran into Dave Cokin in the sports book said Hi. He almost crapped his pants. He thought I was one of his dis satified customers. I laughed and told him not to worry i was an slighht fan!!

To clarify...Fez and McMordie also submitted 2nd and 3rd best bets to break a tie so the semifinals could be set. I guess host John Kelly overlooked dwelling on that fact since they hadn't tied the past two weeks like Vaccaro/Robaina.

McMordie's second-best-bet was Browns/Bengals over 38 (easiest winner of weekend) and Fez lost with San Jose St.

General...how do I make my avatar smaller? About two-thirds that size would be less scary.
I have to look at myself in the mirror every day, but don't think I should subject everyone else to that much of a closeup view.
