LeBron James scored 26 points to become the youngest player in NBA history to reach 2,000 in a career, leading the Cavaliers to a 96-74 victory over the ago Bulls. At 19 years, 272 days old, James is 277 days younger than Kobe Bryant was when he set the mark on Feb. 23, 1999, with the Los Angeles Lakers. James hit a 16-foot fadeaway jumper with 1:03 remaining in the third quarter to reach 2,000. That was his final shot in the game because he went to the bench after three quarters with the Cavaliers comfortably ahead 76-52.

Making a comparison:

Bryant first 3159 minutes scored 1719 points in 150 games (first two years).

James first 3122 minutes scored 1654 points in 79 games (last season).

Pretty even but Lebron younger if it matters.

The league has gotten younger as a whole, it used to be unheard of for a high schooler to jump to the pros, then it was rare, then they didn't start or play for a few years, now they jump right into the starting lineup.

Lebron doing it without Shaq is all you need to know, just as Tracy McGRady has done when in Orlando. And if you say the Kobe is doing it now without Shaq, well, here's why.......

Ranks #1 in the NBA in Field Goal Attempts(252.0)
Oink, Oink.........wait, that's a pig, not sure how a hog sounds........:>Grin>

Also......

Kobe's FG% .401
Lebron's FG% .498

And.......just so you know, Although Bryant is the NBA's leading scorer at the time, Kobe has the WORST FG PERCENTAGE out of THE NBA'S TOP 26 SCORERS!!

Lebron is the second best all around player in the league next to Duncan

Agree with Duncan, he IS the best player in the league, NOT Garnett. Not sure about Lebron being next in line YET though JJ, despite his numbers........
