Anyone ever get suspended from a book for chasing steam?

I've seen a couple steam moves before games and thought about betting them. For those who are not familiar with the term, steam moves are when the betting line moves rapidly in one direction.

If you look for steam on a "quick" book and then bet the line on a "slow" book, does the slow book know you're betting steam? Has anyone ever been suspended from a book for doing that?

QL,really depends. There is steam and there is steam. If you are getting down on let's say BW plays at good numbers you may in fact be shown the door. Some of the moves close to game time are generated by public $,so if you are hitting these, a book prob won't care. If you consistently beat a book to the closing #, you might get the boot. Really depends on the book.

I haven't been suspended...but I had a hard time clicking my wager on the OSU game three weeks ago after Ken released it here...the line had been moving all morning.

Steam plays are for inferior cappers.

I've heard that it's tough to determine which steam is from squares and which is from sharps. You may be right Lander but I consider myself an inferior capper. At least until I get better at it.

was accused of it 2x, once on ML once on props.

Both were BS calls on their part becuase I was beating them. Once I lost a few weeks in a row it wasnt an issue anymore
