guys

Quesiton on those special 10 point football teasers. I have a guy who loves that concept and he just thinks you cant lose on them (not very often). So he puts in a few each week and I cover them thinking that in the long term I might get a little profit and he knows I hold them. we square up once a week no problem.

But he hits them at such a high percentage hes crushing me.

Can these be beaten? Should I start putting them in and playing them for more?

Anyone have success with them. HEs betting into ties lose and -120 to win 100 so its not like a sweetheart of a deal he thinks it is

LAst week

NE Under Pitt Under TB Under

KC over Carolina Arizona

week before

MN over Indy over KC over

Tennessee Houston NO over

Arkansas Auburn San Diego State

Auburn Arkansas San Diego state

week before

NO Over NY JEts under Indy over

NE under Ariz TB

cinci Detroit NY JETS

that is 9 in a row!! and looking back more its at least 12 of last 13.

what is going on here?

can you retire off of these???

one thing about teasers, are that they are exactly what they are called. Him winning is just a tease..Secondly if you notice most of those plays connect if they were straight wagers..Most people dont realize that when a teasers hits they didnt even need the extra points..Eventualy the double juice will kill anyone..hang in there pal

I am pleading the 5th.

ps- Teasers are MUCH better wagers than what 99% of people think........much like parlays.

I will say no more on the subject.

TEASERS are being bet by SYNDICATES, but you have GOT to KNOW how to bet them...

It's all about knowing NUMBERS, perhaps more so than the teams...

By the way, I find the 6 point 2 team NO JUICE (Even Money) TEASERS to be amongst the BEST out there...

P.S.

The ones most often being bet by syndicates:

1- 2 team 6 pointers laying no more than 1.10 and a tie is a push

2- 3 team 10 pointers laying no more than 1.20

3- 3 team 6 pointers getting 9-5 odds...

THE SHRINK

there is something to be said about the pro betting teasers...A pro can be sucessful by studying numbers and crossing "key" numbers..i believe the type of teaser bettor try try speaks of is just on a hot streak that can easily crash..From what i see the most squarest of squares are doing well last three weeks.. Fish i would love to hear your opinion.

Go to amazon and buy the book "Sharp Sports Betting" by Stanford Wong. There is all the info you need on teasers in that book.

Book all of the college teasers that you have lead in your pencil to write down. That said, you better be charging 10% vig on 6 point pro teasers because the "sharps" are gonna knaw on your a$$ if you don't have that edge...

And if he's that sharp you might think about cutting his limits to a bearable figure. There's nothing wrong with crying "uncle" if you are getting beat up. It is just sound business...

Let the flaming begin...

Enough said...

Just think about the logic of a teaser for a moment. A teaser allows the player to create value in many situations where there is none. There are those that will tell you that a teaser is not a wise wager, but I beg to differ as they actually place the player in control of the line which is very powerful. Used properly, whether it be a 6, 6.5, 7 or a special 10 point teaser, the numbers can be worked to the players advantage and a winning percentage significantly higher then 52.4% is readily achieveable. Suggest you pass off the plays and stay away from booking them.

I was trying to make that same point, OldmanTed. Maybe I was'nt as direct. Nonetheless, very sound advice.

Teasers, when played properly, are a deadly armament for a sharp. 2-team 6-pt teasers offer you the most options, but you still need to extract as much as possible from each opportunity.

When you play a teaser at -110 (or +100 for small bettors), you need to think of each leg as -260 with the 6 points. Each leg needs to hit 72%. The focus of your analysis should be: do those extra 6 points give me 22% more wins?

I see many people who are decent handicappers, and they can pick a 55-57% winner. They tease those teams, and make small $. But the tease in those games didn't net 22%; they would have been better off passing on the tease and playing the side.

3-team 10-pt teasers are tastey as well. Focus on teams that are favored by 10 to 11, and home teams at 6.5. This week, if you played Ne-10x, IN-11x, and Stl-10x at -110, you should win the wager about 58% of the time, for more than an 11% ROR!

There are other ways to use teasers for a small return on risk, but where you can risk a lot. If you tease 2 favorites (ideally -7 to -8x) on games at different times, you can hedge out if the moneylines are proper - bet "X" on a 2-team teaser; risk a portion of your bet on the dog ML for the first game, and watch. If the dog wins, you're done. If it loses, you bet a small portion on the dog ML in the second game. If either dog wins, your ML bet nets a profit. If both lose, your teaser wins more than you risked on each dog. The key of course, is to play MLs at above +270 - that allows an expected profit to more than offset the random push or loss in the 1-2 range.

Wouldn't think about teasing coll foots. If you move to the NFL value is everywhere. Allowing 10 and 12 point teasers on NFL totals is not a recipe for winning. I am to busy to take advantage of this, but if I focussed ny energy here no doubt there is money to be made.

i think randy is right. you could convince me to tease in the nfl, but college football? not a chance. that being said, you'll have a hard time convincing me teasers are a good bet in the LONG RUN!
