How many tickets does a book need to write daily to be profitable?

I realize there are SO many other factors ie. average wager size, type of player etc, but does anyone have a general idea? I'm sure the bigger books are in the tens of thousands daily, but could a book writing under, say, 2500 a day do allright?

The number of tickets is not indicative of how much volume an office writes. Profits are based on volume hold - eg. write $100,000 a day (very light volume) then when everything is graded and you are able to hold 6% then your gross profit is $6,000. So unless you can say how much your average ticket is - there is no way to guage profits on a general ticket count. I have seen tickets with a single bet as high as 500k and as low as 5 grocery dollars. Anymore a 5 or 6 percent hold is doing well Offshore. Horses will hold higher, around 15% in a sharp office.
