THE SHRINK and myself made this game a SOLID -6 before yesterdays ballgames.

After USC struggled and OKLAHOMA routed Colorado, expected the line to come lower than -6.

I do however think this line is to low, in fact it was -4 -102 earlier today, and should move closer to -6 by kick-off.

After yesterdays games, I made the number USC -5.5

Set up for a great game. I would much rather see Okla & Usc than have Auburn in the big game.

I'm surprised it's anything over 3 points. I made my figure (LOL) 3 last night.

I feel quite sure that this line will not go to +6. Okl. was just plain too impressive while USC could have lost to a lowly 6-5 UCLA team. The Pac 10 is way down this year with teams that are usually very strong like Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Wash St. having weak teams. Sure they have USC and Calif. but how can We rate Cal that tough when they were struggling with Southern Miss., not to mention a very lucky 28-27 win at home against Oregon. By the way, this is the same Oregon team that was crushed by Okl. 31-7.
After seeing USC struggle with UCLA, I think the - 4 is correct. I said - 5 1/2 before these weekend games but Okl. looked great and their defense is starting to look much better.

Can't see USC playing 2 **** y games back to back. They usually come back strong after a bad game. Pete Carrol will have this team sky high and you will see why their QB won the Heisman!!

I wonder who predicted that a couple of days ago? Oddsmakers had this line set at around 4 long before yesterday.

.....

I never really bet football but I thought USC looked pretty shitty against UCLA. Olahoma has a pretty balanced offense but I don't know much about there defense. Can they hold USC?

USC has looked real shitty against a number of teams this year, but when they are on they are on. Same can be said for OU.

I think the real key this year for SC has been the depth and how strong it has made them in the second half play of games. I don't know if they have that big of an edge on OU in that area though. Sooners seem to be a stronger 2nd half team as well. With a month to prepare both squads will use their innovative coordinators to bring out good wrinkles that will test the other side. Could come down to a few breaks because both sport experienced squads led by experienced QBs who have been playing in a bunch of big pressure games the last two years. I am sure the game will have a ton of money on it, but I have a hard time believing anyone that tells me there is a big edge to either team in this game. Chances are the cover will come with a few breaks and big plays, but not because one team or the other is that far ahead of the other fundamentally.
