Team that could barely beat Kansas 2 games ago. What a joke.

Note to Texas fans - this is a non-conference game AND it is in California.

Hopefully Pac 10 says its enough of this nonsense with the BCS and maybe we can trash this system and maybe we can get somwhere. Pac 10 gets screwed every year

Gotta love the coach on the panel who said "Cal has been good this year but the voters hasn't seen them. They are on the nations stage and didn't get the job done"

This is for that moron vote :finger:

Really not much need for Telford to stay at Cal. Me thinks he should go to South Bend. :103631605

:finger: This is for the Rose Bowl who likes to preach traditional matchups. They got the second choice of the bowls and take Texas.

Very sad oldman here as I was very much looking forward to seeing my alma mater play in the Rose Bowl for the first time is 45 years. Now, January 1st will just be another day.:sad3:

They could do a casting for a Beverly Hillbillies reunion with all the Texas fans coming.

OMT - Where do you think Telford will go, or will he staying in Berkley?

Complete hose job on Cal. They traveled to Southern Miss, won the game and now don't get to play in their first Rose Bowl since 1959. Bunch of moron idiots on the voting panel.

Fair Warning:

Tedford can right his own ticket to almost anywhere, but it wouldn't surprise me if he decided to stay at California. I sure hope so anyway. By the way, I hold nothing against Texas and believe they are deserving of a BCS spot as well. What is ridiculous is how many automatic conference bids there are, leaving little room to assure that the best eight teams are in the series.

Bob Davies constant dialogue about Cal's performance yesterday and urging of AP voters to change their vote, in my opinion, was out of line.

what a shame. texas is idle, cal goes on the road and beats a bowl team and drops to #5. good job mack the squeaky wheel gets the oil. oh, and great job pulling that kansas game out of your a**. oh, and could you maybe score at least 1 point next time you play oklahoma. but of course you deserve to go to the rose bowl ahead of cal. please!!!!

This may lead to desparate measures. I may have to vote for Michigan. I'll have to think about this more because I'll never vote for Texas.

Get a Clue man....the Rose Bowl did not choose Texas. They were stuck with Texas. Texas jumped ahead of Cal in the BCS polls, thus Texas was guaranteed a BCS bid, and Cal was left on the outside looking in. The Rose Bowl I am sure is as pissed off as you are that they are stuck with this matchup. Personally, i completely agree. Cal deserves to be there, Texas doesnt. The Rose Bowl is about tradition, Pac-10 - Big-10, and it should look like that every year(except when they host the title game). But they got screwed out of it, just like Cal. The BCS system made the choice, not the Rose Bowl.

I was wondering because I had heard that there was a budget crunch and U of Cal was having trouble affording new facilities for the sports programs. I think if he leaves, he would go pro.

The Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl have solid match-ups this year, but the Fiesta Bowl with #6 Utah against #21 Pittsburgh and the Rose Bowl with #4 Texas against #13 Michigan are ugly. Wouldn't want to see the TV ratings of the latter two games.
