Big winners for the books.........

FAVORITES overall go 10-4-1 on the day, which now makes more favorites than dogs covering this year now by approximently a +5 margin.

I think the shops got clobbered. Did you see the line moves on New England ,Buffalo, Indy, Carolina, and Tampa. Jacksonville game staye basically at 3 and no major vig change. No big deal on that game as what I saw.

I would imagine the majority of books did much better on Saturday.

But then again, OKLAHOMA was not pretty if you were a bookie.

In reality, the players(particularly the square side) are busy betting the board with props, qtrs, halves, teasers, and parlays, losing back what they may win on the favs covering some sides. It is easy to say the favs are covering so the books must be losing, but the vast majority of players have to have a bet going and they are not content with one or 2 solid plays. If they do get up, the addiction takes over and they start wagering the board looking to satisy it. I am not sold on the books doing bad stuff. With so much action and other sports going I would hope the books are doing ok. Maybe I'm wrong. Action is a necessity for many and in the addiction, players who thrive on action will not likely come out ahead. Fact is the majority of bettors lose, Period!

My thoughts on the subject are yes the bookmakers are having a very bad year......but I doubt that the books really get hurt as bad as what we think. I think that just because a person wins offshore that does not really mean that they are going pull the money. I think that in reality the thing that really happens is that the books handle goes up the following week. Now if the Super Bowl had just been played, then books would be in trouble because everyone would be pulling out the money they had won. Gamblers are GREEDY! Most people do not ever make a withdraw until the end of the season.
