Went to the video store last night, thinking I'd recognize the title. It was a really weird title, so I have no idea. But somebody on here said that it was hilarious. Spent 20 minutes in there last night and gave up. Something about a guy losing everything. "Losing ______" or "Becoming ____ ____". Any help?

Owning Mahowny (2003)
Quiet and unassuming Dan Mahowny (Philip Seymour Hoffman), an assistant bank manager with a penchant for gambling and a talent for embezzling, may seem the unlikeliest of men to rise up against two of the most powerful financial institutions around: the bank and the casino. But that he does … to some degree of success. This crime thriller also stars Minnie Driver and John Hurt.
Starring: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Minnie Driver ...
Director: Richard Kwietniowski
Genre: Thrillers
Format: Widescreen ...
Language: English

Bookies isn't what you're thinking of but that's a pretty decent movie to watch. Has a lot of gambling references. TONS.

Owing Mahoney, that's it. Thanks, bro, I never would have thought of it. Bookies is pretty decent, if you haven't seen it. Not great, but you'll get a kick out of it.

Speaking of "Bookies" my favorite part is when he's taking a parlay bet over the phone and the "Subtitles" explain what a parlay bet is... The description doesn't really make sense so then it just says "They're sucker bets ok, pal?"

LOL!

I laughed so damn hard ....

I'll believe that when I see it. It would be hard to make her look bad.

A lot of good parts in the movie. Basically, I just wanted to be a bookie after watching it.
