Only to someday, stop and realize that you desire it again?

Sometimes we attack projects so seriously and we push ourselves to the point of where we indeed have a minor sickness for this venture. At some point you feel like your hobby is to much like work and you slowly pull away from it. Only then, maybe months/years later achieve that desire again.

I used to play guitar and spent 6 plus hrs per day min practicing. I did this for 4 years. My instructor predicted it.

Now, I feel the need to get back into it and I am pretty happy.'

Anything similar you ever dealt with?

Thanks

yes. Radio controlled car racing.

I did all the major classes and traveled the US to race. I did it year round. 10th scale 2wd drive off road and 12th scale on road were my fav. .it was a total blast and I was starting to get real good and had a few sponsors and made several friends in the industry. i was getting equipment and parts no one else had. I had everything you can think of, and If I didnt I could usually just ask someone and they could give it to me. . .I loved racing its one of my biggest passions. several of these races had entrants of 200 or more. what a cool hobby it was. . .the direction of certain things was getting to me, I dont know how to elaborate on it. . this was back in the late 80's & early 90's and it seems like its slowed down a bit so maybe it wasnt such a bad idea to get out.

a car I would drive typically looked like this:

they are incredibly fast. .the suspension is fully independant there is a hoard of fine tuning you have to do from track to track like shock oil wt., spring tension, different springs, ride height, motor, motor set up, gearing, tires etc etc
I was a hell of a driver if i do say so myself :suomi: and i didnt hammer people i just set them up for deft passes

Baseball Cards...I gave them all away for peanuts....I tried about 5 years later to recapture the moment, but it wasn't the same as collecting them pack by pack!

I really got burned out on sportf*cking a few years ago... now I stick mainly to recreational f*cking. It's a lot less stressful and I'm not as worried about keeping my stats as I was in the past. :hump:

Atleast Lawrence got the correct bass spelling General. I've been staring at my guitar for the past 5 months with no strings on it. Too lazy to string it I guess. I've had strings sitting right next to it too. Well 2 nights ago, after a good night gambling and boozing, I decided to string it up because I miss playing the thing. :suomi: Well I got to the A string and it didn't want to fit at the neck....that's because I'd put the first 4 strings on UPSIDE DOWN!!! Now I have no strings and am left staring at the thing again. SHEEEET!!!

Played as a Kid starting at age 7, even played after winning a state contest at the Northrup Auditorium at the University of Minnesota. Quit in winter of 8th grade to focus on Junior High B-League basketball which I did due to peer pressure I guess....

whywhywhy did I quit playing the piano? :hitting:
