I was at a friend's house last night, well really this morning about 4:00am after a night of drinking and low stakes hold 'em and he popped in a DVD of The Family Guy. I had NEVER seen this cartoon before. I was told this show used to be on at 8:00pm on FOX.......WTF:WTF: ......how can that be?
I have 3 small children and would NEVER allow them to watch this. Now don't get me wrong, some of it is very funny but it is not appropriate for a prime time show especially being a cartoon where kids will be drawn to it automatically.
No, I'm not a prude or anything like that, just know its not right that this would be on in primetime. I understand it lasted 3 seasons as well, is that right? FOX never took any flack for this?

i can understand why it would get good ratings, people like that type stuff and thats fine, but at the right time. I may catch myself watching from time to time if I caught it on TV but I think it is WRONG to be on at 8:00

I would say 10:00 or later would be ok

Yeah after you watch it a few times, its pretty funny, some shows a lot funnier than others, some are just stupid. Futurama is the same way. They are on at 10/1030 and 2/230 Eastern on Cartoon Network. Family guy is on TBS at 8 either once a week or twice a week though, and late at night on that station too I think some.

Just watch the Simpsons a few times....One of the funniest shows on TV, but its not for kids either......just notice some of the themes in the show...

Kids like it, but maybe they dont understand what some of it is, but it is definitely alot of "adult" humor....

same with south park, drawn together, and King of the Hill....

these are not your "kids" cartoons...

You're not a prude at all! You're obejcting to a popular cartoon that was shown on FOX at 8 p.m. because it was properly inappropriate. How dare they! Thanks for pointing this out because it's another sign this country is going to hell in a handbasket. This point has nothing to do with being a prude.
