First off, don't move this thread.

Ok, here goes, does anyone else feel these people are below the worst scum of the earth. Nothing bothers me more than them. I bought a Honda Civic (cheap good car) a few years ago. Called Honda about a 30,000 mile check-up. They want 500 bucks. Are you ******* kidding me? I told the guy that's ridiculous. They believe we are all suckers. Maybe its different outside of Jersey, where everyone is playing angles, but I have a major problem with dishonest people. Maybe 1% are honest, a reach.

The scary part is, its not about the money, its the principle. If I put a grand on a football game, I am not worried about a fin for the car, but I hate the idea that I'm getting taken advantage of. Anyone esle feel this way?

LOL JJ, you are funny.

Actually I did call a local and 150 is exactly the price they gave me. Scary JJ. Maybe you work there among your many other pursuits.

Vaulted,

The dealership charging triple the gas station is pretty much the norm everywhere I believe.

I'm the same way btw. I'll go to great lengths to not get ripped off for $1 yet I can spend $10,000 in a flash if I know I'm getting a fair deal.

In Europe there is corruption on the head of state level in the auto industry. Any Volvo, Mercedes or BMW model costs more than double in Europe vs. the USA for the EXACT SAME CAR for no other reason than "the market will pay for it" ie. the corrupt fukks fix the prices so consumers have no choice. US consumers tolerate a lot less BS than the dimwits here in Europe.

I should say this is also why the US economy is actually much farther ahead of Europe than the numbers indicate. America has a lot more stuff because the prices of most goods in Europe are artifically inflated because of corruption. Of course that will never be officially declared by anyone but an astute person who has spent a lot of time on both continents can see this to be clearly true.

But I digress...
