This lineup for MNF couldn't have turned out any worse for ABC. The last 4 weeks had GB 45-17 over St Louis, Dallas-Seattle, this week KC-Tenn without Priest and McNair and next week the Dolphins. Their ratings have to be very low with the crap they've been dealt. Depending on who makes the playoffs in the NFC, there will have been at most 3 games they've carried this year which will have 2 playoff teams facing each other. (GB-Carolina, Philly-Minnesota, Indy-Minn)

The ratings haven't been down that much, just continues the long decline ratings seen over the years. The people that watch MNF will watch anything, especially the bettors.

MNF very rarely pulls in casual viewers. Competetors aren't afraid to put decent shows on monday nights in the fall/winter anymore and ABC isn't going to get viewers of other programs with ANY matchup.

Gamblers and fans of either team are the only ones who watch....and that's a LOT of people.

MNF ratings used to mean something, when there was NO Competition, now people have 300+ channels to watch on the dish besides the game and its not even close to the days when you had CBS and NBC as the only real competition, how tough was it for them to make a killing against those 2 back 20 to 30 years ago, now they have so much more to fight its like comparing apples to oranges.
