Was my primary source of income when I moved away to go to college.

My biggest thing was concerts especially Cher.

I once bought 10 cher tickets @ $150 for a concert in chicago and sold them @ 350+ each.

$2000 worth of profit for 10 minutes worth of work.

had a few season tickets for various hockey teams and made pocket money, but sometimes it was a headache..... (hotel conceirge, taxi companies, guys yelling at game entrances)

Get the best seats , they sell, the crap seats take work tog get rid of.

Why dont you ask your good buddy Rail instead of us?

My guess at it is get a network of guys you trust. Keep up on every imaginable event out there (some Christmas parties even make for lucrative spots). Start out small to learn the ropes. As you build up and trust your people make good decisions because the money involved will only get bigger.

As a side note, don't follow the common logic. Tough to get ticket events appear to be good spots, but too often obtaining supply will be too hard to make money on. Stick to games that aren't sold out first. You can get tix on the front end for half price and sell them full price, usually right near the windows. You will offer buyers a chance to skip a line and get better seats than at the window. This is bread and butter stuff before you move into the broker business arranging for the big money events.

JJ,

One idea is to BUY TICKETS for the most popular events in the world through the INTERNET....

& then sell them on EBAY....

This way you avoid standing in front of the STADIUM & the world is your oyster.....

I made a fortune when I owned Orlando Magic season tickets back when Shaq and Penny Hardaway was dominating the league, especially on Chicago Bulls tickets. Only did it through the paper and hearsay though, not stand outside stadiums like many do. However, I believe those guys were making a killing also.........

I used to do this on Ebay, sold my last bit of inventory this week. I didnt have time to mess with it anymore, as now I do poker fulltime. I made some decent money, but the poker is way better.

Obtain the cheapest travel agency license possible-- & tie it up with whatever cheapest you can find of a flophouse one night stay or some commuter railway ticket. A 'tour package' can be any prize you wish, & is legal.......

Ticket Tout

Believe me there is a lot of money in it. I have customer and friend that has made a real good living at it for the past 20 years, He put two kids through college, has a winter home in colorado and does preety well. It involves a lot of hands on , and i couldn!t put up with some of the stories he gets from his ticket sitters , but what the hell. He goes down to the homeless shelters or the back of liquor stores, pays them to stand in line all night and buy the tickets. He also has to have one of his people gom so no one runs out on him, but he made a killing at a recent Elton John concert and also a George Strait concert. He rants and raves all the time , but after 20 years he is still doing it. Buddym par4

How do you know ticket is genuine if buying from someone outside of event site ? I've only tried scalping a few times, by buying extra tix for an event I'm attending, didn't make much. I gave that idea up a long time ago.

Doug, with so many large events here in Atlanta the cops don't care if its a legit tix or not....There is a city ordanance that says if you attempt to sell a college or pro tix within one mile of the venue for more than face value you get a misdemeanor ticket and go to jail; if the ticket is counterfeit it is a felony. There are lots of tix venues that scalp around here but you either have to send them a MO or meet them away from the venue. I have done it a few times on E-bay for FSU tix but its always weeks before; buying only...I hear jail food sucks but lots of reading time. I can read at home and watch the game.

Scalping's a service-- a lot of events sell out right away(in the time it took to pen this message sometimes)-- or i may not want to camp out overnight in freezing weather, miss a day's work, etc.-- i'm perfectly willing to pay: nobody's victimizing me.

This could be the next big hit in the Democratic Platform: Affordable Social Entertaiment--the right to face value tickets & admittance for any event anyone chooses, on demand.
We can put Hillary in charge of it, as a consolation for her failed Universal Health Coverage efforts.
Of course, miliions will wish to get into each sold out arena-- so:

Bureaucratic Entertainment Regulation #1--

Government shall have the power to extend a concert or sporting event the necessary days to accomodate all those who wish to attend.
