Im heading to the casinos in detroit tomorrow.. gonna try video poker..

give me some brief helpful hints. do i play for the small hands or do i go for the large payouts every time ?

You probably will not find any FULL PAY 100+% games in Detriot...............so your closest 100% game will be 9/6 Jacks or Better or the 8/5 variety.

Here is the chart for the game..........print it and take it with you.

Most of the hands are self-explanatary.

I will look and see if i can find you the best games to play currently in Detroit.

Havent been there in years, but can find out through a site i subscribe to.

Pick'em has been short payed by 5 credits on the 3ofK and STR. Horrible game, STAY AWAY! house edge of almost 4%!

fish, i think you have turned me onto a new game. its definitely a grind it out game, I played some VP 3 different times and won each time.. made about 175 total playing jacks or better and joker poker

but got killed on the tables playing blackjack.

OK I'm a moron for asking this but humor me, I'm from Iowa.

In reading this correctly, if I play 40,000 hands I have invested $50K and if I hit a Royal Flush it COSTS me $250.00 on a 9/6 machine.

Are you saying that the comps more than make up for this ( probably obvious) and that the key is to know when to walk away? On average what number of plays would anyone expect to play to break even?

Splain it to me Fish.

Hello my fellow Iowan!

First off, dont know what you mean by COSTING you $250.

Secondly, if your playing a 9/6 JB machine, this is not 100%+ as it only returns 99.6% with perfect strategy.......................which you could however bring over 100% with cash back on a slot card and/or comps.

You are correct, you will hit a ROYAL approximently every 40,000 hands..............but this is all relevant with what the PAYOUTS on the machine are obviously.

As far as walking away is concerned..........as long as you are of the mind set to play perfect startegy on a 100+% machine, you will benefit by playing as long as you can into infinity and rake in the rewards.

PS- Played for years in vegas everyday for many hours at a time in a particular day FYI if you didnt allready know.

OK I'm starting to get it. I saw the link you posted, but I'm having trouble understanding "perfect strategy". I'm just having trouble reading the chart at that site I guess. ( And I know everyone reading this thinks I'm a moron, but my revenge is living well!)
