Do you agree that the fake end around/handoff is a complete waste of time?? I have never seen it equal a big gain. It fools no one!


It's the football equivalent of a baseball pitcher faking a throw to third and then throwing to first trying to catch the runner.

They're setting it up for later. You don't want to give the ball to the wide receiver on the end around every time he runs the pattern, it would be too easy to key on for the defense.

No, of course it is not a waste. It keeps the contain man "honest" (DE/OLB depending on the scheme).

That would be one thing.

But Dallas does it all the time and never runs an end around to the receiver. They don't even have a receiver fast enough to do it with. :)
