Hate to break a ballbreaker' balls, but I think you've got your Billy Beane's confused. The A's GM is not the pecker checker. It's another one.

I don't know about that. I heard he has been hit in the chin with more balls than Yogi Berra.

You are right, the Billy Beane of the A's is not the out of the closet billy beane that played for the Pads among others....

Don't think Mulds era will be that high....Harden is for real though.

Angels will win the division anyway.

Hate to say it, but it was time to do something drastic like this!! How many chances can you give these guys to win a title? How many times did they choke when it counted!!? I was there and saw the whole thing year in and year out. Out of the three aces how many won a Cy Young?....that would be Zito and they kept him. He still has many good years in him and is a great pitcher. I hate to see Huddy and Mulder go, but a change was desperatly needed and sometimes you have to bite the bullet. Beane was probably thinking of this a year or two ago and said then he'll give these guys a bit more time and now the times up and NOTHING has changed. Win the division, CHOKE in the playoffs has been the routine for this team. I'm glad to see some new blood in their....Haren and Kaleko(sp) they got from STL are great prospects! Everytime I saw Kaleko get into a game LY as the middle relief he did an outstanding job EVERY time I saw him and held the leads for STL when they did have a tight game which was rare. I think Zito and Harden leading that staff will do fine. Of course, I don't expect them to be as dominant as in the past. It'll take some time to get back to the way they were, IF they ever do. Hudson, Mulder and Zito won MANY games for the A's during their time and you can't just replace that overnight, BUT they just didn't get it done when it counted the most. I'm sure money and cap issues have some to do with the changes as well, but I'm thinking most of all it's the "choking" factor in the playoffs year after year! I'll always be routing for my A's, but that's just my two cents. Gotta give props on the Kendal pick up though....that guy is a stud and a leader!!

Exactly my point, it was time for a change.....personally i think harden would've been the ace anyways if the staff wasnt changed. I think we upgraded our bullpen to put it into the top 2 or 3 in the league, we upgraded our hitting and we kept durazo. And personally I think Danny Haren will do just fine and maybe halfway through they'll call up Dan Meyer too. Also Kirk Sarloos will in my opinion get the 5th spot to start the season along with Yabu. I guess we shall see....Billy is gonna make some more moves and one thing I won't be happy with is if he trades away Byrnes.

A's like always will do just fine.

Minny +15.5
Indy +7.5(5Dimes)

Good luck all and enjoy the games

I may be adding the moneyline as well

Waiting on that though

When you start a thread with a subject line that states "Minny +9.5 For 15,000" and then in the thread itself say you've got another 5Dimes on Indy for a total of 20,000 Graham Crackers...you deserve all of the abuse you get...and especially if you do the same thing over and over and over like this high schooler does.<!-- / message -->

How many "Graham Crackers" are you betting on this?

It is Kiki Calero, and he is 30 years old. Hardly a prospect, though a very fine reliever. Still, I thought the trade favored the Athletics.
