No doubt the guy is a complete idiot. The question is was he a complete idiot before he went to Austin or did the radical hippy cult make him what he is today. The guy looks like Earl Campbell these days, sorry Earl.

Does it make him an idiot because he decided to walk away from the NFL on his own terms. Last I checked we are free to do whatever we please in this country. Hey if the guy wants to hang all day and smoke weed it's his life.

Yes he is a complete no question fukkin idiot for choosing dope or possibly Hall of Fame footbal career. Anyone can be a fukkin junkie, to believe there's some honor in turning your back on your teammates, fans and coaches and walking off the field to hit the bong is silly.

Good thing everyone doesn't have his attitude. Someone ought to tell him he isn't 19 anymore.

It's not what he did-- IT'S the WAY he did it... Would you want someone like that in your Armed Forces platoon? Shiver me timbers!!! And he will wind up broke: it's much harder keeping a bundle, than making it. I actually feel sorry for him-- for when he goes broke, he hasn't shown so far the necessary intelligence, drive, wherewithall to make money some other way.

If it was some other drug he was doing, he'd actually have a better chance: potheads do pot usually, because they can't handle pressure-- harder drugs may eventually kill you if you don't get a handle on them, but while you're doing them you should have enough drive / confidence to succeed at something, however fleeting that may be.
And who knows, maybe making a lot of money won't matter to him-- he could be content with a simpler lifestyle-- but no way will he wind up one of the leaders of society, business, etc.

The level of ignorance that some of you chose to portray is a dangerous amount.

There's only one word to describe anyone who begrudges what Ricky did or laughs at him... SELFISH. Waahhh boo hoo he left "my" Dolphins high and dry... well if they didn't SUCK so much they could've won without him.

Bullsh*t! R.williams put the Dolphins in a position where they had no choice but to be bad this year.He was their best player and within weeks of the start of season he walks out! Do you think the Colts would be where they are this year if Peyton would've did that to them? I don't think so! If its an avg or below player you can replace them but not when they are a top 10 player overall in the league, which he was! He screwed the Dolphins! Once he runs out of $$$,he'll come back and play for the Raiders(or whoever) and I hope they have shitty line and he gets stuffed every carry. All he had to do was give the team a chance to make the proper adjustments, don't just quit!

Big deal so your crappy team stinks this year and Ricky is the perfect guy to blame for it. He wasn't born so a bunch of sports degenerates can run his life and tell him what to do with it. I thought the "personal freedom/responsibility" crowd would be happy that he's living free but no they say he should do this and that. Well I thought SLAVERY was abolished but maybe that doesn't apply to pro athletes.
