I have always wondered if there are any posters here who are deaf?

I am deaf myself and have a lot of deaf friends.

I try to teach a lot of deaf people around here how sports gambling works and they all seem to like it and even they tip me LOL! :)

No, we grew up in Jersey, and she went to a school up there. I was young, so I'm not quite sure which school it was.

I'm half deaf. I lost all my hearing at age 2 in my left ear due to a severe middle ear infection. Biggest problem I have is people standing on my left, can't hear them and an inability to tell what direction a sound is coming from. Apparently you need two good ears to distinguish sound direction. I lost a job at a brokerage firm where I had to answer multiple phones, about 7. Only one would ring but I couldnt figure out which one. I would have to run and feel which phone was vibrating, (from the sound) and pick it up. I could only use one phone at a time. Also people will only answer you three times.
Me: What?
You: bkjkfjbakb
Me: What?
You: kgkjgjgfihtgn
Me: What?
You, Loud and angry: Forget it, Are you f**king deaf or something?
Me: Yeah
You: Sorry man

Best thing was tunning annoying people out, ex wives talking to me in the 4th qtr: Why didnt you take out the f**king garbage, Like I TOLD you to?
Me: Sorry honey, I didn't hear you... me muffled and low.. F**king B*tch. Her: I heard that you F**king ass**le, I'm not the one thats deaf. TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE. Me: What?

I never considered the possibility of deaf posters. To me vision is the most important of the 5 senses, hearing being second. Sense of smell being least valuable.

I'd give up my hearing, long before my eyesight. Sense of smell isn't needed too much, taste has value. Touch is important, not sure how you can lose that one, though.

If I had to sacrifice one of the basic five, it would be smell. It's not needed for basic survival in modern times. One could have no sense of smell, and be fine.

I think a blind man would trade a keen nose for his vision restored, or a deaf man for his hearing back.

I find that funny dude!!!! LOL

I love being deaf because that is who I am. Sure I would love to be hearing to be able to use the phone but god chose me to be deaf. I have been a good role model to deaf children who loves golf. I was on 2000 and 2004 USA Deaf Golf Team.

Of course If someone annoys me or baby crying I just turn off my hearing aids and it is all peace after that! someone would say "HELLO, why didnt u say something??" I would say "sorry my hearing aids are off". They would say" yea right!!!! then why you have your hearing aids ON your ear?" I just say "I turned it off!!!" LOL

Just a proud deaf dude here

That's really good to hear man. My sister is very much the same way as far as being proud and self sufficient.
