Stay away from individual stocks. Buy low load funds, study funds and their managers. Morning star is a good place to go to learn about funds. Individual stocks can kill you. Even the big boys have bad reports and bad news and it can kill you.

Let me ask you, these funds you are speaking of, can they be purchased through sites like Ameritrade or sites like those?

Yes, but there is no need to pay extra fees. You can go directly to their sites and purchase shares. I'm personally in troweprice.com, there are many good mutual fund companies and many terrible ones. Fidelity is good with higher fees. Vanguard is excellent. Go to morningstar.com and they will give you a free 14 day membership. You can learn all you need to know there.

Djking - I believe "RICK" also owns and operates the super hip club Different Strokes on N. Clark in Chicago. and the very popular Daddys on Castro St. in San Francisco. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't play the stocks. I don't have the time to study and I do not trust having an investor.

bigbet1234,

FWIW I don't think Buffet would add any of those securities at their current prices.

Look at the NanoTech companies for next year and if Howard Stern gets out of his contract Sirius may be a good 1st quarter '05, wouldn't hold it longer than that; their holiday sales and ad budget may tell the tale in April.

Get your hands on all of the nickel futures you can get. The reports out is that China is going to take about 95% of the available market next year as there are a few HUGE stainless steel production factories being built and near completion as we type.

Used to work for Procter&Gamble, good value after they split, helped drop the price to affordable

3M, Innovation will keep this stock rising

Any energy company involved in the Athabasca Oil Sands Project in Northern Alberta, I believe Shell is a major player there

If DeBeers gets Native approval to start mining diamonds in Northern Canada they should jump

Molson and Coors are seperate now but should be a nice hold when they merge
