I'm lost with your comment ...

They have upgraded at shortstop ...

Picked up a potential real sleeper in Miller ....

They resigned Varitek ...
Signed Wells who I think makes a nice contribution ...

Ok, they lost Martinez ... such is life when one has to make a business decision

This rumor is almost not worth responding to. They got Renteria here for 4 yrs and 40 mil. I don't think I could watch the sox if they ever got that douchemop

I love how you sox fans say you wouldnt watch a game if they got jeter. what does he do to make you hate him? come through in the clutch? proven winner year after year? You guys would love to have him on your team. It would never, ever happen. Jeter, is a yankee legend with Ruth, Gerig, Mantle and Dimaggio

I'd trade Jeter in a heartbeat if I was George S, for the right deal. He isn't indespensable. A better SS plays 3B. Jeter for a 3b man, slide A-rod back to short get leverage get Beltran for Williams, pay money.

Jeter aint Ruth. He's tradeable, given A-rod. Not like who plays SS ?

No he isnt Ruth. He is the face of the team.. The leader of this team. The most popular player. The one guy you can always count on, if your Joe Torre. He will never be traded. unless he demanded it.

Doc my whole thing is. they just fielded another I hope everything falls into the right place kind of team. why couldnt get an A's pitcher and beltran or something. and keep pokey around. I mean we have the highest ticket prices in the leauge and we just won the title but they have the exact same payroll why dont they spend some of that on some players. i know they did some crap to the stadium, but come on. where is the trophy protection. every one is going to be fired up to play us im not sure this team can go to the playoffs.

What a joke of a rumor. There is no chance in hell that Jeter is traded as long as Steingrabber runs the team. He is a Yankee through and through, the team captain and most importantly, not worth what we are paying him so why would anyone want to pick up his contract?

He will retire a Yankee and I'm perfectly cool with that.

I don't think Jeter is going anywhere, but he's just a ballplayer, and one with a better signed player for his position. A-rod is better than Jeter.

Jeter falls out of favor with George, or something ? Not like there's nobody to play SS.

He's tough to trade because he's over-rated and over-paid Yanks don't need a leader, they are individuals, not a team. Will sheffield, Johnson, A-rod look to younger Jeter for leadership ? He ain't Yastremski. He isn't I-rod leading Fla to championship. He's a commodity. Captain title is fluff. George would trade him in a flash, for right deal. Jeter for a 2nd and 3rd baseman of decent quality. Done deal ! we will toss in a paid Giambi to boot, even B. Williams, Matsui can play CF. Easy enough to pick up a corner outfielder.

Yanks would dump Posada for I-rod. A-rod is a fixture, untradeable. Randy isn't going anywhere, or Mo. Everybody else can be had, for right price. Perhaps even Rivera.

A-rod and big unit are the guys not moving, and Giambi, and probably Mussina. Anybody else is fair game.

****, trade Jeter to the Rangers for Soriano ...

Jeter and Young would make a nice combo and throw in Blalock and Tex and nice infield ...
