He would be mopping the floors at a homeless shelter if it were not for his BB skills.

Have you ever watched him play golf? Is this what you're alluding to? Just painful-- he's gotta have the worst swing ever in the history of mankind......

I think I must be one of the few that actually liked Charles when he was playing. Man oh man, the NBA is going to krap, except for a few good guys like, Lebron & TMac, but they can't hold it down themselves. Never will there be another era with guys like Barkley, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Hakeen Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Karly Malone, Isiah Thomas, Kevin McHale, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler............and so on........

I liked charles as a PLAYER as well. However, his commentating skills are severely lacking. When I listen to him talk about a certain game or player, I get flashbacks of old corky episodes.

I agree with you there baseguy, I suppose he just speaks his mind, which isn't always a good thing. Actually the main reason they have his as a "color commentator" though, because he isn't afraid to speak up......

Sure he is very colorful and it adds SOME excitement to the game or recap. However, when he is commentating or talking about an issue it sounds like one big run on sentence. Sometimes it is hard to understand what he is talking about as he changes his point every 15 seconds and the sentence never seems to end.

Can't argue your points of view basesguy, you're right, but all I know is the guy was a machine on the court, and I just remember him from that great era with the rest of those guys mentioned above. It will never be like that again........Merry CHRISTmas to you!

LOL........I take it that is a bit of sarcasm! :>Grin>
All I'm saying is it was a great time for basketaball with all of those guys, who all for the most part were great guys when you compare them to most of today's players. Take a look at that list again.........guys like Barkley, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Hakeen Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Karly Malone, Isiah Thomas, Kevin McHale, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler............and so on........

Just about every one of those guys were truly good guys.....well, except Isiah Thomas who I couldn't stand and probably feel the same about as you do Barkley!:>Grin>

No, not sarcasm. I am sad as well that the NBA is not what it used to be.

I guess the crying icon was too big, lol.. Funny how I was thinking you may have thought I was being sarcastic.

Talking online is tricky isn't it! You can't really give a specific "tone of voice" when saying or typing something so sometimes it's difficult to know exactly how someone is directing it towards you! LOL........ All I know is if you catch something that sounds wrong, you had better correct it quickly since you're only allowed to edit here for short time! I have been toasted like that a few times..........

Basesguy, no worries there, I have bet on many crazy things. When I was younger and worked with a friends dad during the summer who owns a very large construction company, we used to bet money by each having a certain number of oranges or rocks in their hands, picking a street sign or another target, and who could hit it the most out of their, say 10 oranges. We actually had to dig some big holes for pads, and we would bet on who finished theirs first. Buddy and I have gone on a basketball cour, he stands at one end under goal, I stand at other end under goal, we throw a football to each end and back, first one to nail a basket(football basket! LOL) from the other end wins......................Other things that I could go on about!

While were talking about random things...

I am auctioning some stuff on ebay and on one of my auctions there are like 6 people watching/tracking yet no bids. The item has less than 8 hours left. This happens all the time. I feel like emailing these people and telling them to stop watching and start bidding.. LOL
