Don't make bets like betting your posting rights in future. The only bets that matter are for money. I'm forever gone from playing poker at the kitchen table for pennies, can't do it.

Everything changes when you become a serious gambler. I couldn't make a "friendly" bet ever again in my life. There's no such thing for me ! That's the way I deal with it.

Here's my definition of when you become a real gambler. When you first bet a day's pay on a game, you've started this process. Later you'll have a weeks pay spread over several games ( in a day), eventually you win or lose in a day, what you USED to work for in a month. When you can lose or win a month's former "pay" in a day, and it doesn't faze you anymore, you are now a degenerate gambler. Few get to this "esteemed" level. You give up much of your real life to get there.

You may care more about Shaq's knee status, than your child.

Not a very Christmassy message. There exists a price for this lifestyle, it's high !

Beware what you wish for, you may just get it !

Money ain't everything, look up Jack Whittaker.

I'm re-axamining my lifestyle this Christmas, before it's too late.
