JAKARTA, Indonesia - The world’s most powerful earthquake in 40 years triggered massive tidal waves that slammed into villages and seaside resorts across Asia on Sunday, killing more than 7,000 people in six countries.

here in so cal we take earthquakes for granted because of the high standards all buildings must be built to. but for something like this to happen is almost unreal and unheard of. i hope things aren't as bad there as i sense it is. i hope i am wrong - but i sense when all is said and done - over 10,000 people will have died because of this.
