the finale of the playoffs generally acknowledged by just about all "experts" as the best, moste xciting and toughest to win:

The Stanley Cup Finals

ok - so the NHL might not play again for some time - but there is NOTHING better than watching playoff hockey for sheer excitement - especially OVERTIME - which could end in 5 seconds or 5 hours and the longer it goes the more exciting it is - as opposed to MLB and NBA. what makes a playoff OT game so exciting is it can end at any second and one second a team can shoot to try and win the game and 5 seconds later the OTHER team can win the game on a shot of their own. in MLB we have to have a complete inning and in the NBA we have to play a full 5-minutes of OT and each team gets the ball numerous times so ONE possession isn't as valuable as the NHl where ONE possession can win a game.

i would also throw in here

The Olympics

i went to the 1992 Albertville (France) Games. i snuck my way into the semi-final hockey game between the USA/USSR - the first rematch since the 1980 "Miracle on Ice". that game was almost 13 years ago and i still recall it. it was goosebumps city all the time. the ONE thing i regret not having with me was an American flag - because i wanted to wave one. i went to short track speed skating (a sport i had never seen before but since i got free tickets to just about all events i went to this) and was cheering my lungs out for the american skaters and when they won a Gold Medal i was cheering like crazy. it is a GREAT chance to be patriotic - for when the USA plays - people from all cities root for the same team. when LA plays KC in soccer - those who care about the game root for different sides - yet when Team USA plays (say) Brazil - EVERY american citizen roots for USA since they now represent ALL of america - not just LA, KC, NYC, etc. if you ever go to an Olympics - BRING a US flag - or else regret it later.

i would also add

The Final Four

the sheer pagaentry and excitement is great - not to mention the HOT college babes there getting wild and crazy.
