This is not an earthshattering deal but I have always put WSEX as my top and most people it's in their top 5. I have been getting crushed on the bowl season and went large on No Il late last night. They won nice for me and I had 2 more games lined up as soon as my winning were cashed in. First I called the accounting side and they said my winnings were going to be put in the next couple of minutes. I called again after 20 min and was then told that there were no supervisors there and it would not be graded until the next day around 9:30 am est. Come 9:30 when my play was finally graded the 2 spreads I wanted to get had changed a full point against me.

- Yes it was very late but if you are a top 5 sports book and its one of the busiest times of there year shouldn't you have someone there? This kinda stuff is what makes you a top 5 sportsbook. Like I said it's not major but one of those little things that made a difference. Thanks for listening.

I stopped playing there years ago for this reason. I remember in the NBA playoffs they wouldn't grade the late games until the following morning. By that time the money lines (on favorites) would be jacked up.

I have a problem with WSEX, wich I suppose I'll post here.

When I click on 'place wager' for my play it no longer simply goes through like itused to. Instead, there is a (sometimes very) long delay, in which I picture some guy sitting there going, hmmmmm, should I let this dude bet this...hey Bill, get me a coin...tails? Nahhhh, denied.

Sometimes I've had bets denied several times with no line movement at all. It's just denied for no obvious reason with the line just sitting there (apparently) to wager on, but not for me.

Am I the only one?

This has really been bugging me.

steve while you are here please address your HUGE straddles on interactives during games and why the events are paused more than not making it impossible to sell and buy

Noreaga,

First of all all our interactive are 2 wide before the game starts. That is equivalent to -104 I believe that is the lowest juice of all sportsbooks.
After the game starts our basketbll and baseball markets are 4 wide, football is 5 wide. I believe we offer the tightest and largest markets of all books who offer live betting. By the way we only hold about 1% on all our interactives bets.
Instead of critcizing our live betting odds, why don't you demand the other books offer better odds on live betting. As far as pausing the game, It is only paused while the action is on. You usually have about 30 seconds after every play to place your bets.

Steve.

WSEX is an A-Rated book with one minor weakness.........

slow grading late at night, nowadays all grading should be done no later than 15 minutes after a final with technology and info available on internet.

"...not major".

Sounds major to me. Wagers should be electronically graded immediately!

A few things, I'm not there these days but I just wanted to comment.

Mr. Teaser, I am sure Steve will do the right thing for you. I'm not saying it's right that games aren't graded until the next morning and I am sure they will address the issue. But what I am proud of is the people at the top of my old spot still make themselves available and will respond to complaints and criticisms, and make adjustments when appropriate. Steve is one of the most accessible people in this business. He is always willling to take time to explain the interactives to rookies, and when necessary respond to customer complaints.

Noreaga,

Perhaps the interactoves should be paused a little less. Is your main complaint basketball or does it involve other sports? I know from watching Steve make markets years ago that hoops is the toughest to keep updated. I'm sure he'll speak to the other market makers about this issue. But, like above, call him, he is very easy to speak to.

As far as the straddles or spreads on the interactives go, I think they are very competitive. As odds go higher, spread width needs to increase to maintain the same hold.

Here is the formula:

http://www.sharpsportsbetting.com/forums/free/general/index.cgi/noframes/read/12475

Theoretical House Hold Percentage = 1 - A/B

A = (1 + dog price)*(1 + favorite price)
B = (1 + dog price)*(favorite price)+ 1 + favorite price

Using the example of 75-80 and 20-25 (-400/+300) yields a theoretical hold of 4.76%, hardly a fleecing especially considering the difficulty of making an accurate line during play.

In case anyone else cares, I contacted Steve and he said he didn't know why I was on a "subject to approval" list and he took me off of it.

If you are a sharp or just win a large percentage of your bets you get the delayed treatment. The bet goes into a que for the bookie has to approve. Unfortunately, Wsex is one of the books that do this.

I contacted Steve and things were worked out. There was an oversight on the grading that was a rare error not the norm for them and there were a few things I could have done as well. Steve was nothing but a class and WSEX is back on the top of my list. Thanks again Steve.
