other than take off his goofy indiana jones hat and scratch his head ?

i rarely see him wear a headset, so he cant know what the hell the cordinators are doing.

on another note i just saw a WVU player headbutt a teammate who wasnt wearing a helmet.. brilliant.

Bowden has been a GM of that team for 6+ years now. Nothing wrong with that because he always has top quality staff.

He's not even close to the only college coach doing this gig right now.

You can not even say anything bad about Bobby Bowden. This is coming from a life-long florida gator fan.

He took what was once an all-womens school and turned them into a national powerhouse every single year for decades. He still gets the recruits with his name alone. Every player in the country will listen if Bowden wants to come sit in your living room. The talent he's put into the NFL is undeniable.

Anquan Boldin
Michael Boulware
Peter Boulware
Derrick Brooks
Terrell Buckley
Laveranues Coles
Sam Cowart
Darnell Dockett
Warrick Dunn
Corey Fuller
Dexter Jackson
Sebastian Janikowski
Brad Johnson
Greg Jones
Travis Minor
Scott Player
Tommy Polley
Kendryll Pope
Samari Role
Orpheus Roye
PK Sam
Deion Sanders
Corey Simon
Greg Spires
Tra Thomas
Javon Walker
Peter Warrick
Chris Weinke

And I'm leaving at least a handful out. These are active nfl players who went through Bowdens system. Can't be ignored.

Bowden is a legend. I hate FSU but I'm not blind.

i would imagine his kid jeff is going to get the job when he decides standing on the sidelines watching a football game is too taxing.

no doubt he has had quite a run. many a good player has come thru tallahassee. i just like to see the coach wear a headset , even if he is just listening to tony bennett on it.

With the coaches he puts on his staff he doesn't need to interfere. He's a GM. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. His personell has always been exceptional. He's a big part of that too.

i respect the guy. he has been great for college football and all his players.

i grew up in michigan watching Bo run that team and dont ever remember him just "on the sideline" .

he didnt coach there into his mid 70's though.

Bowden is old school.

One of the best if not the best college football coach any of us have ever seen.

Look what he did this year with florida state on basicly a skeleton team.

seems to me the same question could be asked of a lot of head coaches. The NFL Channel runs a lot of stuff from coaches they've miked up...and most, not all but a good number, just spout out stuff like "c'mon, get tough!" Cower at Pittsburgh is great at doing that. Hell, it goes back to Lombardi and his famous "What the Hell is going on here???" quotes. On game days, many of these guys seem to do very little, college and pro. Shanahan is an exception at Denver, and I'm sure there are others.

Damn, the CrimiNOLES sure look lost after that early lead they had. I think WV definitely wants this game more, should be a good 2nd half.

I liked Tamarik Vanover from FSU, that guy was amazing, he got heavy, his life seemed to unravel quick once he made the NFL (Chiefs)

No doubt they have produced some greats...no QB's really Charlie Ward was amazing for a college QB, Brad Johnson did more once he left...
