Unbelievable.....

Apparently dogs can be allergic to seafood, just like regular people....

Some time ago, a dog started hanging around outside....we'd feed him stuff so of course, he stayed....Nowadays he's like the company dog. So, someone fed him some shrimp earlier and of course, he ate them....

I walked outside a while ago and I see her so I call her and as she approaches I see her right eye is all swollen....Hmmmm I start looking at trying to see if I could do anything and about 3 minutes later, I see her mouth begins to swell.....bigtime...

I ask the guard and he tells me about the shrimp the dog had just had for dinner....I go inside, confim he was given shrimp...ask if there is a vet in the house. Fortunately there was....

Gave him a couple pills to reduce the swelling... The dog puked numerous times....20 minutes later, the vet arrives, gives her a shot of dexametazone which will reduce the swelling (also knocks her out almost unconscious)....

The dog will be taken care of overnight and should be ok tomorrow morning...

Who woulda thought dogs can be allergic to shellfish, or seafood, or whatever you wanna call it.....

I believe besides chocolate, onions can make them very sick also I've heard.
Yes, if a dog eats a lot of chocolate it can make that dog sick or even kill it. A little chocolate isn't bad though. It's like caffiene for us. Too much can make us sick but a little doesn't hurt.
