A friend of mine says Lebron is THE BEST player in the NBA right now.....my other friend is arguing big time saying he is about the 25th best player right now. I would say top 5 right now....

what do u all think and why?

Not an NBA expert by any means, but to say he's 25th is ridiculous. I'd say easy top 5.
Garnett, Duncan, Iverson, Stoudamire, and LeBron.

players i put above lebron now - no argument:

Duncan
Garnett
Shaq

players we can debate about being better than lebron - and probably at least a few are

Kobe
Yao

overall - i'd say if you wanna put lebron in the T10 you should get ZERO argument. #1 overall - NO WAY. top 5 - arguable.

i will say if we have this discussion in 5 years there will be ZERO debate about T5 and maybe he will be #1 - but NOT NOW!

Lebron is in my top 10 for sure. You are right, its possibly top 5. The kid is beyond amazing, way BEYOND. Once you saw him play that first game against the Kings, you knew he was going to be great.

I feel like Portland -- I thought that the best players in that draft were (in order) Carmelo , LeBron, Wade (no, I'm not making this up), and TJ Ford (bust).

TJ Ford is not a bust....you cant say someone is a bust after he's missed more games due to injury then he has played...whenever he comes back he will give u 10+ assists every night.

name him a bust if he gets sent to europe after playing 2+ years in the nba,.

Garnett, lebron, wade, nowitzki and duncan are th best players in no specific order. kobe is close.

Someone mentioned yao. he isnt in the top 25. he is the most overrated and overhyped players in NBA history. if you watch him play you would realize that he isnt anything special
