At the risk of bodily harm

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD> ESPN has completed casting on "Tilt," the network's second original scripted series. The ensemble drama is set to premiere on ESPN on Thursday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. ET.

"Tilt" focuses on the drama both on the table and behind the scenes of the fictional World Poker Championship in Las Vegas. As was previously announced, Michael Madsen ("Reservoir Dogs") plays Don Everest, nicknamed "The Matador," the top player on the circuit. Todd Williams will play a young poker player gunning to take down the champ, while Kristin Lehman will play a woman named Miami who's part of the plan to beat "The Matador." Meanwhile, though, Everest is gunning to takeover the Colorado Casino, which is run by his best friend (Don McManus) and owned by the Molloy family, fronted by a character played by Michael Murphy.

Williams is a relative newcomer with guest appearances on "Third Watch," "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit," and "The Twilight Zone." Lehman was one of the stars of CBS' short-lived drama "Century City" and has also appeared on the network's "Judging Amy" and on "Forever Night." Her feature credits include "The Way of the Gun." Probably the best known of the new additions, Murphy has been seen in such films as "Manhattan," "What's Up Doc" and "M.A.S.H.," as well as in Robert Altman's classic television satire "Tanner '88" and its recent sequel. McManus can be seen briefly in the country's No. 1 movie "National Treasure" and has done television appearances on "Northern Exposure," "Boston Legal" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."

this show is going to be as brutal as all the other espn productions.

first mtv goes from playing music to making shows , now espn goes from sports to "entertainment" and making movies and weekly series.

bad idea..

do some more sports century features on old timers. that would be fine for me.

I think you should bring in the guy who played "Pete Rose" on their ESPN movie. Then I would watch.

Cash games are what you might call live games for higher stakes. Sometimes the big games that get going because a big tournament around get called "ring" games. Never figured that one out.

I am sure this will be a bit more realistic than Rounders, but to be entertaining poker movies are going to have to leave a lot of mundane stuff out, losing much of the realism. Most people think gambling for a living or working in gambling is glamorous or exciting, but generally it is not. ESPN is going to have to stretch this truth a bit to make this interesting to the viewing audience.

When Tilt was first advertised (back during WSOP) they made it sound like it was going to be a "Behind the scenes" look at the life of famous poker players.

That would have been really awesome.

This overproduced **** I couldn't care less about. Won't watch one episode.
