I started this thread because I am relativaly new to sportsbetting myself and there are a few things I would have loved to have someone tell me when I started. I will bump this thread from time to time if it proves to hold some good info that might help some people. After all, this is what the RX is all about.

These are a couple things I learned the hard way.

1. Always play at top notch books ONLY. Forget the bonuses. You will pay the price. Period.

2. Do not chase when you lose. I imagine everyone here has done it. And probably most still get the urge to no matter how disciplined. When you lose, I don't know why, but in a lot of people it changes the way they think. It causes people to want to make it ALL back in one swipe. Even if you win the chase it is bad because it causes you to be more likely to do it again. Fight that urge. This is a discipline you will learn, but it goes against human nature.

If anyone can add anything that they learned the hard way....please do.

I disagree about top-notch books only. There's room for an account at places like SIA, ABC islands, BetMill, Wagerweb, etc. They're not Pinny/ Oly/ CRIS/ WSEX/Grande, etc. A+ good, but playable. Some should be avoided by all means. Then you have your places like Bet $3.65, Bowmans, Bodog, Canbet ( maybe), Skybook, etc. They are just a hair below elite status, but quite safe.

You need more than Pinny Oly and CRIS.

When I said top notch, places like wwts, skybook, 5 dimes were all included in that. I did not mean only play at pinny and oly. Just that be SURE that you put your money in a book that you're not gonna have to sweat the payout. Probably should have specified that. SIA and Bodog not worth playing at IMO.

I'll agree about Bodog, not a fan, but SIA will give you the best dog NFL lines of any book. They aren't new. Must have out until they evict you.

You're darn right here. But its really HARD not to chase after you lost big...
its hard to fight against the devil within YOU! lol
If you really gotta chase.. NEVER wager on the same match. As in you lost 2000 on 1st half of a hoops game.. try not to chase 2-4k back on the 2nd half.. chances are you'll get toast again. Try a new game.. from my own experience.
