They just presented USC with the " National championship" trophy. Exactly what did they accomplish this year that was better than anything Auburn did?

Not an Auburn fan, but just pointing out how ridiculous this system is. And Utah deserves a crack at that trophy too.

the system does stink, but USC just beat up Oklahoma like they were little school girls, while auburn struggled to put up 16 points against a decent, but not great, va tech team. There is no argument this year.

USC dominated that Auburn team last year, actually beat them 2 years in a row, if you haven't seen enough to know that USC would win if they played again, you need to quit watching football..

USC has been the best team hands down the last 3 years, don't forget the asswhupping they gave Iowa in the orange bowl!

if you think the first game of 2003 has any bearing on who should win the national championship trophy now, that is ridiculous.

Auburn has a complete shut down defense like the 86 Bears. Would be one hell of a game. 13-0 thru the SEC, SEC title game and the Sugar Bowl is outstanding, if you want to hand USC the trophy based on yards per play or what happened 25 games ago or this team beat that team which beat this team etc, or just that USC was the last team to look good this season, SHAME.

you want to discount Auburn cause they are a defensive team which did not cover, shame on you, Auburn is awesome! And Utah did nothing to deserve coming in third. They are every bit as deserving as USC to hoist that trophy!!!!

USC is just fine with me. A very good team I have nothing against them. But to say they accomplished anything that Utah or Auburn did not or they showed they were better is completely wrong!

We have 3 #1 teams. that is the system.

want better, than we need to settle this on the field, like USC and Oklahoma did.

It doesn't matter which red team you put out there. If USC has mulitple weeks to prepare their overwhelming blue intelligence will result in yet another USC victory.

The real sham was letting those imbreeds from Ok and LSU go at it last year.

USC was the best team this year, last year was debateable but the year they beat Iowa is not debateable. USC lost 2 games that year didn't they? When 2 undefeated teams were playing for the NC?

SEC teams typically schedule crap non-conference games because " Their conference games are so hard". their is some logic there.

look at the Florida Gators, they have not played a game out of the southeast in about 20 years. their non-conference is 3 teams they beat up on in the swamp.

the non-conference way is no way to decide a national champion.

the citadel does suck though

I think USC would beat Auburn. Yeah Auburn played some weak ass teams in the early portion of the season but they also beat 4 teams that were Top 10 when they beat them which is pretty impressive.

as normal, lander is talking jibberish. or please show me where I said had dough on Oklahoma tonight. I was routing for them sice JJ needed them so bad, but I was not on this game either way. Nor did I see any post from Lander picking a winner, until the game was over when he claimed credit for a blue win.

We don't know if USC would have beaten Auburn or Utah. Unfortunately they don't play. System Sucks. There is no Villanova's, NC ST's, Kansas, Florida Marlins, Anaheim Angels type of storys in this Sport. BCS has taken out the great underdog Story with this stupid system. No great Underdog team could ever win the National Championship. Thats a shame

comical how lander somehow incorrectly decided I was on Oklahoma and he talks down to people as if he were smart.

I was not on Oklahoma or USC, I passed on this game.

I would like to see a real champion decided though. We played a lot of football games this year and, to me, all we decided was that USC is outsanding, Utah scores points in bushels and is unbeaten and Auburn won every single game thru the SEC and Sugar Bowl and plays defense like maniacs. And we'll never know who is better!
