but would the ncaa allow such a thing to happen when sponsored by a betting sportsbook? good question....

Bodog.com Sports Casino Poker™ announced the US $50 million Bodog Bowl game offer being sent to the NCAA Athletic Committee, Auburn University, USC, and Oklahoma University.

With Auburn having defeated Virginia Tech Monday evening in the Sugar Bowl, there will be two undefeated teams in the NCAA as both USC and Oklahoma have 12-0 records. Bodog.com will host the Bodog Bowl to put finality to the NCAA Football National Championship.

Bodog.com has pledged US $50 million to make this game happen, and with the breakdown of cash distribution, all parties involved stand to gain a significant sum in participating in this game.

Each of the two schools involved with receive a US $15 million scholarship fund for their participation, with the eventual winner taking home a secondary US $15 million scholarship fund.

The final US $5 million will be allocated to the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee.

Of course not. Free publicity for Bodog if media outlets pick it up. In years past many speculated a pay-per-view matchup could earn close to that amount as well, but of course the NCAA is not going to allow it. If they allowed it, they would then clearly have no control over the game and they can't have that.

hmmm, a college bowl sponsored by a offshore sporstbook...Now we are heading in the right direction. Hopefully they could get a couple of sports agents to be honorary coaches as well. This is just the type of thing the NCAA could use to spruce up their image. I am sure they will be on board 110%

WildBill hit the nail on head........BoDog knows full well there is ZERO!!! percent chance of this happening. NONE!!
Meanwhile, possible new customers are going, "hmmm....BoDog? If they have the bucks to offer up 50 mil, they must be worth looking at."
I applaud the Bo Dog marketing team for brilliant work!!!!
By the way, I'd personally rather see USC play Utah, not that it would make a difference

They did this same stunt last year if I'm not mistaken.

They might as well call it the

And it can't be that hard to market to gamblers... The intelligence of the average gambler is pretty low.

Yeah. and the winner doesn't just have to win SU, but also covere the spread to be declared champion. IN other words, the handicap is added to the score, so if if it's USC -3.5 vs. Auburb, the score will start at Auburn 3.5, USC 0.

Worst idea ever.

They added that to the stipulation because they knew that insures that this game won't happen. Bodog would be like a deer in headlights if the game was approved. They'd back out I guarantee it. Bodog is a giant publicity stunt

Would not matter how they wrote it because the powers that be could not condone the sponsorship from an Offshore Sportsbook due to the way of thinking in our society.

Red Mccombs - Owner of Vikes (won't spend a dime on them) put up a lot of his cash with some others a couple years ago when USC got snubbed out to try and get a "championship" game. Won't ever happen. They get enough $$ off what they got.

I just read this cheap publicity stunt in the amcostarica.com today. No media has fallen for it here in Florida. What a joke. I guess after the Miss Bodog "beauty" contest (designed solely to get the guys at Bodog laid) is over they had to come up with another amateur publicity stunt.
