I opened a new account at Skybook and funded it by transferring from another book. They refused to give me the sign-up bonus. Turns out it's company policy that transfers are exempt.

So if I had sent it, say, Western Union, not only would they pick up the fees, but they'd give me a bonus. But by using a method that is by far the cheapest for them I missed out!

I didn't find anything on the site about the exemption. I must admit, except for not getting the bonus I really like playing there, but that bonus thing is going to bug me for a log time.

Forget bonus Pete. You do not need it.

Use your money to take the bookie down.

If someone things they are getting a bonus and then do not i could see how they could look at it as losing money. Gotta make sure you know all the rules. You would think a book would want your money and a book to book transfer does not cost the book what a western union does.

Welcome to the RX Pete.

Thanks for informing the posters here that were not aware of this rule.

Do however think that not many posters make their initial deposit with a book through a transfer.

Again, thanks for sharing and enjoy your stay at the RX.

Thanks Fishhead. I can somewhat understand their thinking. That players who transfer might tend to make a few big plays, grab the bonus, and then run. I'm just a $50-$100 player. The other day a friend told me about Skybook. I went to the site and liked what I saw, and so I signed up for an account. I'd have gladly agreed to roll it over as many times as they liked. My usual pattern is to roll it over until it's gone :)

I always thought that was a strange rule because, as the poster said, it's probably a whole lot cheaper for the book than other methods of transfer.

A lot of books have this rule, I think, but unfortunately, it's always an "unwritten" rule.
