With the Broncos biting so much on the play action, it is clear that James is the key to the offense. Peyton is obviously important but without a pro bowl RB would the Colts offense be as good?

If the Colts want this offense to remain dangerous, they have to sign this guy or slap the franchise tag on him.

James has been a great asset. 2 Rushing titles, 4th this season, After Knee surgery. I have came to realize his necessity for Indy.

I wouldn't say he's the key, but .. um, yeah -- most offenses are better with pro-bowlers in the lineup ;)

i think marvin is the key. he draws double teams and opens things up for the other receivers.

when they drop out of the double team , manning exploits it and finds him for big plays.

Just busting your chops swami ;) When your team hasn't made the playoffs since the Doug Flutie era you get a little bitter during hte post season.

Don't know about that. Apparently he didn't see many double teams his year which is one reason he was complaining that the Colts didn't have a reason NOT to throw to him. His numbers were down despite seeing fewer doubles.

Again, the Colts are lighting up the Broncos and Harrison is in single coverage with Champ.

I feel your pain, sort of. I'm dealing with the Eli Manning era. In order for that deal to be worth it, he has to be AT LEAST as good as his brother.

i think its because the other 2 wideouts emerged as huge threats due to harrison seeing a corner and a safety . he still caught more balls than anyone else and more td's . his numbers werent down from last year , 2002 was when he caught 142 passes. i've never heard of him complaining

SHHHHHH...you are wrong sir.

1) I know last year he didn't catch 142. Check the stats, the only category where his numbers were NOT down is TDs. Every other stat is down this year. If I'm correct he also played a game or two less last year than this year and his numbers are still down.

2) He did complain this year, maybe not loudly but a complaint none the less. If you continue to contend that you are right, I will look it up but Harrison did complain publicly about not getting the catches. Obviously, this was before he signed the new contract.

Swami - congrats on winning the poker tourney last night, excellent works disppensing with those ghosts. On another note my man Jeff Weaver didn't do to bad with the Dodgers last year going 11-13 with 220 innings piched. Anyway good luck with the late game.

you think james is the key, i think marvin is the key.. agree to disagree .

i cant say i remember hearing him complain. infact the announcers mentioned how well he was handling the spreading around of the ball..

someone's drawing a double team and i dont think its stokley or dallas clark.

I'm done with this. I don't have an issue with you thinking Marvin is the key..that is fine.

Where you are/were totally incorrect and not even close to being right is:

1) double teams (we cannot debate previous games, although I know I am right. In this game Champ covered Harrison almost exclusively. You do understand that is the idea behind a "shut down corner" right..have him cover the best receiver on the team so you can use the other defenders elsewhere.)
2) stats
3) complaining

The announcers are wrong about him not complaining. I saw it with my own eyes on ESPN when he was being interviewed. I'm not sure how much football you watch but frankly these guys are wrong A LOT!!! As a Giants fan, I like Phil a ton but he was wrong here.

Thanks Wil.

Weaver played ok in LA. He had a much better first half right? I recall looking at his numbers and thinking, "you son of a *****, you fu3ked us." It is a much better team for him.

1) He's from Cali.
2) The Dodgers don't have the same rules as NYY (facial hair, smoking weed, etc. lol)
3) That park is a much nicer park for pitchers.

It is almost embarrasing being a Yankees fan. The team had the biggest choke in sports histrory, spends too much and the farm is depleted. I hate A-Rod, never liked Giambi, don't really like Jeter much (although I would never trade him for another SS) and my favorite Yankee (Bernie) is getting old and is clearly on the downside of his career. Frankly, I'm not really looking forward to baseball at all.

ease up..

i think marvin can handle even the best " shut down corner " one on one.

if they were putting their other defenders on the Indy's other receivers , you had me fooled..

his numbers were down a little cause stokley caught 68 balls and wayne's numbers were way up due to single coverage.

i'm done with it too.

good debate.

RESPECT.
