Not sure about your law but we can tape whatever we want from broadcast TV for our own personal use.

Basically you can't have a public performance or make money from copyright broadcasts but if you have a few friends over for beer and nuts to rerun a classic game then what the heck.

Now if you were to start making DVD's and distributing you would would be breaking the copyright act.

The devices you call TiVo (we call them PVR's, personal video recorders) are terrific for recording a game while you watch, since you can go back and review controversial plays and then easily catch up with the live game due to ads.
