Its been since 1976 that a team went undefeated in College hoops...

List off the best teams since then that probably should have gone undefeated and who they lost to along the way. 1990 UNLV comes to mind, who the hell beat that team?? They won the national title by 30!

If Illinois can get past games AT Iowa, Wisconsin, And Michigan St, they may be next to do it since Indiana in 76...

If they game were played in Champaign, Illinois would win handily..

Were it in Chapel Hill, UNC would win.

Neutral court is the only way we find out, and that would be in St Louis.

UNC look unbelievable this weekend. Clearly more talent than Illini. They were just pounding Maryland. UNC best team i think as well.

The point is UNC already slipped up and lost...Illinois hasn't and I am interested in knowing how some of the great teams since 1976 have lost games...

North Carolina overrated.

They haven't played anybody on the road. 3-1 overall road vs. Santa Clara, Tennesse, Indiana and Virg Tech. Again, nobody.

And they home schedule hasn't been all that great either. Kentucky is mostly on reputation at this point. And Maryland is not a top team.

UNC will have at least two losses at the end of this week; Illinois will still be undefeated.

Well UNC gets Wake this week, a team Illinois already beat by 18 (led by 30 in the 2nd half). Let's see how they fare. I will probably be betting on Wake Forest.

The Illini have been underrated so far by the oddsmakers. Finally, this weekend, they inflated the number enough to get a cover from the opposition. That's 2 games they haven't covered this year.

look at the fukking scoreboard. Kinda like my boy Randy yelling at the packer fans in the first quarter. You could read his lips.."that's my fukking scoreboard". Classic. What a great way to treat those cheesediks.

For what it's worth, don't believe either Illinois or North Carolina will win the National Championship this year.

Illini:

Neutral courts throughout plus defense wins championships. Watch what happens in conference play when Illinois travels on the road to the legitimate conference contenders and in the Big 10 Tournament as well. That will be your gauge as to how good they truly are after playing 30 games. Then consider the strength of some of the other major conference powers and we shall see. Good yes, but not good enough.

not taking anything away from illinois cuz i do think they are solid, BUT i personally think oklahoma state will win it all this season. they are well balanced team offensively, crash the glass hard, and play suffocating defense at times. i realize that gonzaga exposed them, but i tend to think that was a humbling game for the cowboys. also, once simien comes back for the jayhawks (and stays healthy) they too have a legit shot. that win on the road yesterday vs kentucky at rupp arena w/o their key player inside will take them along way come tourney time IMO.

I respect your opinion more than anyone's. But the only weakness they have is that they don't have a Sheldon Williams down low. I think anyone who plays them has their hands full, and I think their defense is outstanding. I think Gonzaga can attest to that. Turiaf was lost in that game on a neutral court. I think Illinois loses 1 game this year before the tournament, and I think they win the Big 10 tourney and get a #1 seed, possibly the top #1 seed. I know they can't play the games that count at home, but they are going to be tough to beat anywhere. I'd love to see them play Bill Self and Kansas in the Final Four. I know I'm a huge fan, but they have passed every test so far with flying colors.
