Do your clients want to talk stats, totals and chit when they call? What do you do or say as this is busy time? Give me a play and get the ******** off the phone huh?

Not that I am a bookie, just saying.

If you do this to your book, let em' know your bet and get off the phone. ;)

I'm actually pretty close to the one I used to use, and do now and then. We talked one time for over 2 hours straight while he put me on hold time after time as he took other calls and wagers. Great guy actually. There's a guy betting with him at this time that is down around $35,000 and he allows him to pay $500 every 2 weeks and keep on betting. He even gives him some weekednds free to give him a chance to catch up a bit......

I try to avoid misunderstandings so I avoid the chit chat.
Many times I will repeat the bet because I have been burned a few times.
I have had guys swear they picked team 'A' when I know for a fact they picked team 'B'. I dont take large action so I bite the bullet and let the guy off.

Pisses me off.

LOL.........this guy I talked about above is exactly the same way! As long as nobody has scored, the 1st quarter could be over and he will still take your wager. They guy honestly must have money to burn the way he operates things as I explained above. He even sends your winnings Fed Ex in cash!

Why would anyone bet with a local bookie nowadays? I don't understand why anyone would bet with a bookie when you can bet with the offshore shops. Even if I lived in Vegas I would still bet with the offshore shops.

I believe some find it convenient in their own way Jay, I don't know. I do use this guy now and then just to keep in touch and he also gives me better lines than what I can find online.

Locals offer better dog numbers on home teams and popular TV game dogs.

This guy I'm talking about is either way General. He is simply "too nice", no other way to put it. If the line is 4 on something, and I say, Cmon **** , 4?? Can't you give me 5? Blah Blah Blah......... Half the time he's like....... "Yeahhhhhh.......I guess I can give you 5". Told me a story about 2 guys that won $90,000 from him on a $5,000 game limit, he payed them, and then they got down $30,000 couple weeks later and stiffed him..........:increible
Felt bad for him but I suppose he's got the money......
