Yao Ming was supposed to be the most dominant player to enter the nba since shaq, when he made his much heralded debut, but just a couple years later, has he had that much of an influence on the game?

No doubt he is a good player, but with him , the Rockets havent done much, and even with the addition of Tracy McGrady this year, the teams is barely above .500, at times they show flashes of being good, but often they dont..

Has he proven to be a worthy player? or overrated?

Or is the jury still out?

What if he was on the Heat, instead of Shaq? would the heat be as good?

Is it the team, or Yao?

Just curious what others think about this

Yao

Ok the guy is a slave of China gets no rest plays basketball all year. How long can you be good. Then when he plays in the USA he has to look 5feet down to see his worthless coach. Get rid of I can't win Van gundy I think the Rockets will turn around. I have talk to players and they hate him. No one on the team gets along and the team is heading no where. Want to make some cash bet against them.

I do think that Yao has been a bust so far. But, he is still young and has the ability to get better. He is a top 5 center for sure, but not as dominant and not as good as what most expected. I beleive that if he was just another white center and not Chinese, he would obviously not get all of the publicity that he has received. He's a good player, but I don't think he will ever become a great player.

Ask yourself from that draft

who would u rather have

Yao or Amare

Yao is a total stiff, 7'4 and he can't avg 10 boards a gm

he will never dominate , will be nothing more than a nice player

right now I would take Dwight Howard over Yao any day

I think patience is key with yao, he is too young..

I would like to see him when he becomes 28-30. He needs resistance, he needs to get to the point where he can play 40 minutes per game. With that you could be expecting him to get 23+- points, 12+- boards and at least 2 blocks per game...

not sure if he will ever become a star but he will be a good, very good player.
