Did anyone else besides me happen to watch the new show which aired last night on ESPN at 9 PM EST named, "TILT?"

While trying to watch the end of the DUKE vs. NC State hoops game, I was obliterated with streaming ads for this new show on the bottom of my TV screen, so I thought it was worth giving it a shot.

The whole idea of this new drama was to depict the life of some professional Poker Players who reside in Las Vegas. The show focused on some real life issues, such as the agony of defeat, the difficulty of winning in Vegas, the cheating involved in some of these games, and the likelihood that some Poker players team up to find themselves a whale to prey on.

Truthfully, I thought this show was awful, despite targeting a subject that interests me. It was simply missing so much. The acting was terrible, the topics were muddied, and the action was missing.

Although this will be aired weekly on Thursday nights, I doubt this writer will be watching it again...

If only the show was half as entertaining as being in Vegas, then my attitude might change. But for now, I'll gladly skip over this and await for Desperate Housewives on Sunday nights...

If I would have known it would be on 3 times in 4 hours, I would not have skipped CSI to watch it. It was okay, but seems very unrealistic.

I on the other hand will be waiting for Sunday nights other show , Boston Legal.

I think FAT TONY could have played a better role in this show than some of these actors!

Didn't watch it last night, I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportuntities. sounds like the only thing good about it is that I can watch on ESPN HD.

I figure I'll learn all I need to know about Professional's at the Bash this year!

Very unrealstic

You cannot cheat and stuff in Vegas with other players, too much security

Secondly in real life and you collude in an outlaw poker game and others find out you end up with a bullet in your head

like just about all TV its dumbed-down to the point it doesnt go over ANYBODYS head.

They need to get rid of that stupid storyline where the guy who appears to be the casino boss/owner is colluding with the poker pro to rip people off. dumb. would never happen.

casino would lose their license when eventually caught. casino owner would probably go to jail. casinos can sit back and rake it in off the slots, they dont need to cheat some schmuck out of 20K at poker.

I liked the show. The show will only be as good as your bad guy. Michael Madsen plays a good bad guy. J.R Ewing was a good bad guy. Gary Busey in the 1st Lethal Weapon was great. Maybe we need a poll to find out who was the best bad guy of all time.

Thank you mj. I knew I should have invited you to the "Tilt" premiere party but 1500 people was just too much for a 1 bedroom apt.

I tell you, the one thing I really hated about the show was the "Product Placement". It was not subtle at all. Kind of threw it in your face.

it was only 1 episode but im hooked.

I really hate that matador guy, I think this is what the writers want you to do.

but if you saw the clips for next week you see the hotshot kid is hanging out with the matador while the black kid gets the shaft.

so whats going to happen? I want someone to catch the matador cheating (I presume he is, we dont know for sure) or I hope he gets the crap beaten out of him at the table somehow.

if the hotshot white kid turns evil, then I hope the black kid he was friends beats the crap out of both of them.

I dont think anything happens to the cop who lost 8k, unless he gets murdered or he just warns the players the black kid or the hot shot and tells them what he knows.

I LIKE IT!!!:103631605

oh plus the cute chic is on the black guy's side. maybe she will team up with him [at the table]. we really didnt see her playing cards in present tense, but we did see her winning a lot of money when she was 12 or 13 so we know she is good you figure she has to factor in as a player at the table in near future probably with the matador involved.

i was not overly impressed either....The black guy was just too over the top, with his cocky attitude....

I didnt buy the casino boss and the player telling him who to fire, and demote and stuff..

I did like the girl, and the other young player, and liked the action at the table when he took the english guys money on the straight, against the trip 6's...

dialogue there was pretty good...

Overall, if they want to keep viewers, think they will need to concentrate more on the game, and less on the sub-plots....

watch the travel channel more. they had a whole segment guy showed all kinds of ways to cheat in black jack. he never got caught. was a former magician. he did it for years.

most popular methods still can be used today. removing chips when your cards are bad. sneaking them out when theyre good. (many ways to do both) also some tricks involve having inside connections with the dealer.

im sure fish has heard of this and more and doesnt need the travel channel refresher.
