The Patriots dominated the entire game, but I'd like somebody to explain the "fumble" (2nd one I've seen like this) that Bruschi "recovered" --

seeing how Rhoded never actually lost possession of the ball how does it go to NE?
Is there a real rule on this -- I'm sure the Pats will use it to circumvent the spirit of the game when it really counts like they did with the tuck and the illegal contact, so I'd like to understand this one up front.

Thanks.

Lander, I am a little confused on it also.....I wagered the first Turnover to be an INT and I am very confused how that is a fumble!

It was ruled that Rhodes had possession and make a "football move" when he was stripped. No different than a qb getting stripped. Even though the ball never hit the ground, it is a fumble.

It was very close, it appeared Teddy had more of the possesion as the players fell to the ground....When its more or less an equal possesion, it goes to the offensive player..I think in this case the ref made the right call...

Fair,
Now you know that I wouldn't voluntarily rip on a blue state team, but I do not understand how Rhodes fumbled ("stripped") when he never lost the ball. How does a player have "more possession"? Rhodes caught it, they fell and it was magically Patriot ball.

It doesn't matter -- but after the tuck rule, the abuse of the illegal contact I'm a little sick of Patriot nation getting all of these horsesh*t (no pun intended) calls in big games.

I understand that Colt management is going to petition the league that the Pats should only be allowed 10 players on defense next year. They will call it the WHINE RULE.

Tedy Bruschi rips the ball away from Dominic Rhodes in the first half.

Tedy Bruschi celebrates with teammates after he stripped a Colts receiver in the second quarter.

I didn't think he did either, but that is how they ruled it. They figured bottom line, Pats ball. Sherman, you got a bad beat on that prop.

Lander - I'm in a Blue county in a red state. To make it worse the, the county south of me was one of only 3 red counties in Indiana. :howdy:

A dejected Peyton Manning walks off the field as the Patriots begin to celebrate.

Patriot,
I have a question. Is this New England stuff like a cult? My boy Newport, A Maryland boy that grew up a die hard Cowboys fan, now worships Tom Brady. Is there Kool-Aid involved?

Ah, the dead-on symbolism of the reds being beneath you. ;)
