steelers cant be compared to anybody yet.

if new england wins , you can put them in the same sentence with the steel curtain, the cowboys and the niners easily.

this team might be considered the best of the bunch.

No Dante,
Much like the Lightning they didn't win squat. Remember the "tuck" and "illegal (except for one game) contact"? I hate the Red Sox, but I will congratulate them any day of the week as they deserved to win -- the other two sports (I don't watch hoops) were a farce.

New England is UNDERRATED imho...

I made the mistake last weekend of betting AGAINST them but I won't do it again...

If they WIN their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years, they will have accomplished a feat that ON TEAM has ever done in the history of this sport...

SO YES, I believe that IF they win again this year, then you can say this is one of the best teams of all time...

As I have said since Aug...New England is clearly the best team in the NFL...

The still do not getting nearly enough credit , 3 in 4 years puts them in with the alltime teams, even though I don't think modern day teams ever get as much recognition as the teams of yersteryear...

If Pittsburgh's wins its 5th Super Bowl , that is totally seperate from the glory teams of the 70's...

Patriots win by more than 7 this weekend...

Dante, aside from being a Pitt fan, who do you really think will win this weekend?

They will be some comparisons if they do this and will be compared to Dallas

Brady has shot to go down as best ever and biggest winner ever and very soon

Unreal for such young age

I think Dillon is the big difference, Dillon just another Patriots player not getting enough recognition ....and Ben's lack of experience seems to have caught up to him...Pitts offense has slowed down , Ben hasn't had a real good game in quite some time....he will have to play a mistake free game sunday, this isn't the Jets...

Still a tremndous season for Pittsburgh and anything can happen..

I hope he does have a great game Dante...there is no way I could say say he's a future Hall of Famer at this point...many great Qbs never make the Hall of Fame

Here's a few great Qbs who never made the HOF , Kenny Stabler, Bert Jones, Ken Anderson , Jim Hart, Phil Simms, Randall, John Brodie...

Big Ben has a long way to go to get to the HOF IMO...

Not taking anything away from what Big Ben did... A 98 QB rating for a rookie is as good as it gtes, and amazing season!

New England can lose this week and still be considered one of the best teams ever for the period they have had this run. Solid!

You can scheme all you want on defense against the pass but you can't scheme against smashmouth power running football.

Belichick has success against the Colts because they are a pass happy offense with occasional finesse running. Of course you can give all sorts of blitzes, zone-blitzes, dropping lineman in coverage and all kinds of stuff to confuse a QB.

You can't really scheme against power running. You can try different techniques such as hitting the gaps or run blitzing Brushi down the middle (which won't work because he will be flatten by Dan Kreider in the same way he flattens Ray Lewis all the time). Basically all you can do is put 8 or 9 guys in the box to stop it. It's like trucks running into cars and the only thing you can do to stop it is by stacking more cars in there. No scheming here.

And when you stick 8 or 9 guys in the box, that leaves Ward and Burress one-on-one against third-rate rent-a-cornerback-off-the-street Dbs they have lined up there. Big Ben should be able to play-action and make plays against these mismatches.

So Belichick: pick your poison.... Get bulldozed by Pitts O-Line and power running game like in the previous matchup OR Throw 8/9 guys in the box and get burned deep.

Even the Jets tried to scheme with 4-4 and 5-3 fronts and they still got smoked by Pitts punishing O-Line.

Scheming doesn't work against smashmouth power running football.

That is even more so with Seymore either hobbled or out. Who is going to stuff that middle?

Remember Nighthawk that Pitt has to account for Dillon. He didn't play in the first game. NE can dominate the clock with him.
