Is this really hapening?

I am not a pro but do very well in the locals games I have played around here so far but end up getting my ass kicked online at places such as Party Poker...

What am I doing wrong?

I made over 9k my first month in online poker, next week i lost over 4.5k, havent played since. Probably burned myself out playing so much. I believe some online poker is rigged... Party/ Empire are the only places I've lost to and they have the shittiest players there. Good places to play imo are sportsbooks' poker sites b/c thats were all the degenerates are.

I was making over $50/ hour in live with $100 nl in live game but its very volatile so that figure doesn't mean much. I could be anywhere from a $30 to a $70/ hour player in reality.

The most important thing in poker is understanding how to properly think. I would say 98% of the players don't understand the correct decision making proccess. To understand this I would read Sklansky Tournament or Harrington Volume 1.

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, there really isnt a guide to making a living at online poker that I know about. You may be able to seach for poker blogs or something and find people telling thier stories about what they are doing.

I do ok. I can make a consistent $20/hr profit playing mid-level limit holdem on 3 tables. But it is not worth the grind to play extended hours. I play on average about 4 hrs a week, just enough to cover my annual cigarette and coffee habit.

Winning in low limit games is all about being disciplined and not playing any kind of garbage. That really is much of the battle. AJ unsuited in a game with many callers can be garbage for many players. In the right conditions 87 suited is gold. These kinds of concepts only apply at certain times in certain games. So the real key to winning at low limits is always remain flexible, be a simple player with little deviation, and just be patient. When you can play 3 games at once winning good money is very possible, much more so than even most live games.
